  1. I see where Aardsma gave up a homer but it was 'unearnded' so his era looks nice. sometimes baseball stats are so silly.
  2. This brings me to a different point, which I don't have time to flesh out right now. Is Pete Rose really an all-time great? His career .303/.375/.409, 113 OPS+ line is Rusty Greer-esque. Was he merely a good player who just stuck around forever? I'm not claiming anything either way, I was just shocked by how pedestrian Rose's rate stats were. I once agrued that Pete Rose really wasnt any better than Mark Grace with a friend. Its pretty damn close. Rose won on all the 'career totals' but all the averages Mark was right up there. Pete is a money/fame whore. Its really quite comical.
  3. It pains me to say it as a Badger fan, but at games end you might even want to put this game in the 'mismatch' category. Based on what I've seen from Wisconsin so far, Michigan should win this game pretty handidly. Badgers should be competitive defensively, but offensively their team is waaaaay too young. PJ Hill looks to be the next in line of very solid RB's, but the OL is inconsistent and Stocco has really no one to throw to yet. Maybe so, but its never a good idea to take the Badgers lightly, especially their defense. Im glad this game is in Ann Arbor and not at Camp Randall. I wouldnt like them going to CR after the win in South Bend.
  4. I remember that game. The timekeeping "mistake" was pretty blatant, but what a finish. That was also the year MSU was actually good from beginning to end and beat Florida in the Citrus Bowl if I remember correctly. That incident was blown out of proportion. What is forgotten is that MSU should actually still have had a timeout, because the referees were tardy calling a 12 men on the field penalty on UM during that final drive. AH Ha. Except they didnt have 12 guys on the field they had 11. To be honest i never really remember these blown calls until i looked up some stuff. All i remember is TJ Duckett being a human bowling ball and blowing through the line of scrimmage for like 10 yards EVERY SINGLE TIME. We were actually laughing at how awesome he was. We new the fate of the game if they would stick to handing the ball off to TJ. Michigan didnt lose because of the refs, they lost because of the man child TJ Duckett. It was fitting he caught the TD to win.
  5. Totally, and Im not just saying size wise. Eck was 26 when he was a rookie. Eck had a better BA in the minors and better BB/K ratio but The Riot is pretty close to him in those departments. Im looking at the last 2 years of The Riots minors mostly.

  8. You guys must of missed the game yesterday. There is no need for Soriano to play secondbase with the big bopping bat of The Riot. I was a little worried Soriano's OBP imrovement might have something to due with Washington's lineup but i dont think so. He has improved his P/PA from about 3.60 to 3.90 and he is actually striking out more. I know, i think its actually a good sign for him. He does have about 10 more IBB than he has had in years past, so his roughlyt 30 BB improvement is really like 20. I really dont care if they overpay for him. I dont think it hurts a team to overpay for a very productive player. Id be more inclined to overpay for him playing 2b or CF than LF, but id still overpay for him playing LF. I dont know what the MLB average is for hitters GB/FB ratio but Soriano is way more tilted to FB than Lee and Aramis. Soriano is .57, Lee is 1.02 and Aramis is .86. I think this is a good characteristic for Soriano to have for playing at Wrigley.
  9. Brad Johnson is good at finding the short and intermediate soft spots of the defense and cover 2. Thats what im worried about. Last years whooping was with Culpepper and not BJ at QB. BJ wont give the game away.
  10. I think a little 'documentation' is in order for this thread. 8)
  11. My local 1:00 televised game is Packers Vs Lions. You guys are jealous arent you? Thought so.
  12. BIG Ten opening week.
  13. They were 1 closer to 40 this week.
  14. The ref is silly. Personal foul, major face mask. thats a new one.
  15. On the replay angle Urlacher is jumping like 8 feet in the air to see the catch.
  16. The #2 reciever questions are being answered.
  17. mckie is looking like a legit threat.
  18. yeah isnt that referred to for women.
  19. celebrating in an unfair way? what the hell is that.
  20. Its rather quite easy when you are the Detroit Lions. :)
  21. Not taking anything away from Briggs but the position of LB isnt as important as DT or DE. The phrase 'it all starts up front' is a mantra for a reason. Angelo and Lovie totally abide by this rule, you hear them say 'you cant have too many Dlineman' a lot. Its better to overpay for a Dlineman than a OLB. Save the money for Harris and Tank.
  22. I'm glad I don't know many Michigan fans. I shudder at what they'd say after the Irish smack them around on Saturday. Where did this come from, why were they brought up here? So odd. For the recoed Michigan doesnt get smacked around, they lose, but they most definetly do not get smacked around. The last time i can remember them getting 'smacked' around was like 5 years ago against Iowa. That was probably the only true ass kicking they have takin in many of years. Wanna talk about getting smacked around how bout 38-0. The year after ND's miraclous season. That my friend is beat down, smack down, whatever; ND will never be able to give Michigan that type of beat down tha Michigan gave ND Anyway i would vote WS fans in this poll. Are they really paranoid or insecure? It seems more like a insecure poll than paranoid. Paraniod i would say are Red Sox and Cubs fans as thinking something bad is about to happen.
