I dont really like Phil Collins at all. Not a big fan of the Pistols either, but i can tolerate them more than Genesis. Sid and Nancy was a great movie though...
YOU WANT THE BEST YOU GOT THE BEST, THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD......KISS! Kiss most definetly are not great musicians by any means but they still had some good tunes here and there like, I love It Loud. Gene on the battle ax spitting fire was cool rock n roll.
Which begs the question of whether it really was a minority that was racist at that time, or whether those who were not racist did anything to speak out against or to stop those who were racist. Whoa this is getting too deep for me. I just like to drink beer while i listen to Skynyrd. Am i the only one who likes 'both' Van Halen's? Its seems the people ive talked to about VH its an 'either or' thing. I like Van Roth better but i still enjoy the songs from 5150 and OU812. Van Halen brothers are great, Alex doesnt get the limelight of his brother but i like his style.
And to go further on SWA. It was in response to Mr Young's "Southern Man" and "Alabama" songs. I was aware about the response to "Southern Man" but not "Alabama" bit. I just found this quote from Ronnie.... "We thought Neil was shooting all the ducks in order to kill one or two," Ronnie told Rolling Stone magazine regarding the creation of the answer song. The band felt that Young's lyrical content was representative of the shortsighted "Yankee" belief that all Southern men should be held accountable for the verbalizations and actions of a racist minority.
If the song was Sweet Home Florida i dont think it was have the catchy tune to it. Its about the south, not necessarily Alabama. Singing the words sweet home florida songs stupid. Im not certain but i bet they substiuted Alabama just because it sounds better.
Dude, "People Are Strange". All aboard the "Crystal Ship" everybody and vote for the Doors! Do i ever need to bring up the Alabama Song? Sure why not, Well, show me the way to the next whiskey bar, oh dont ask why. Awesome!
This is a tough one, i like both. And yes ole miss i right on. When i think of Skynyrd its the Ronnie VanZandt days i dont listen to the other rubbish. "Am I Losin'.....I dont know Ronnie, so far its not looking so good. Im going with the Triple Guitar Threat over the one man guitar show here. DLR is a great frontman dispite being the biggest jerk in rock.
You thought that was subtle? It was in reply to "do you accept part of the blame?". Yes I do, just look at how great of a job I've done all my career. Yes it was a master spin job thats why i felt it was subtle. It did stick out like a sore thumb so maybe subtle wasnt the correct word. Anyway, i laughed and im sure derrek and michael will too. Managers shouldtn take credit for players success. Accept it if the player gives it but dont take it without ackowledgement from said player.
Thats sweet. I did the same thing to And Justice for All. My friends and i listened to it driving to and fro school everyday. Used to Love Her is a classic off of lies too.
Pantera plays Mouth for War. The hippies dont know what to think and get totally rattled and proceed to call a timeout which they dont have ala Chris Webber. The upset is becoming more apparent unless the Dead can form a late charge.
To this day, I love Appetite For Destruction. Appetitie is an amazing album. But also, GNR really didnt crank out that many albums. Spaghetti was kinda weak and so was Lies. The Illusion albums were good. Appetite was so good its makes up for the lack of total work though. Steven Adler and Duff are biggest airheads of rock. I remember a friend tell me that it took forever to mix the drum sessions on Appetite because Adler was such a mess.
The Pyromania album is awesome. I remember being 10 years old and cranking that stuff out in my bedroom. My mom didnt like the pyromania song and it scared her that her little boy was jammin to this rock n roll stuff. That was sweet.
That's like the most played AC/DC and one of my least favorite songs by them. Hell's Bells and For Those About to Rock are probably my two favorites. ...And Its a long way to the top, TNT, and of course Big Balls....how can you NOT like that song.... Well I'm rather upper class high society God's gift to ballroom notoriety And I always fill my ballroom The event is never small The social pages say I've got The biggest balls of all I've got big balls I've got big balls They're such big balls And they're dirty big balls And he's got big balls And she's got big balls But we've got the biggest balls of them all
You know them. You just don't know they're by the Dead. I'd be stunned if you've never heard Truckin'. Thats the only other one i know. I know it because its on Tesla's Five Man Accoustical Jam. Im sure ive heard the Dead's original version but i like the Tesla one.
I cant stand Rush. People rave about the drummer but i dont care, i dont like the songs. Rush will not survive the press from Def Leppard, they will crumble like the little girls they are.
Pantera was awesome. Cowboys from Hell totally rocked and Vulger was the best Metal album released that year. Dimebag was an unbelievable guitarist. He could thrash with the best, crunch out great solos and compose amazing slow ballad types of songs. He was the complete package for a guitarit. Phil Anselmo was as equally versatile as a singer. The lyrics were solid angst. These guys were truly great. Does anybody remember when Vinnie Paul the drummer put a big ass dent in the Stanley Cup? That awesome. Guys from the North Stars brought the cup to a party and Vinnie tried throwing it off the roof of the house into the pool but it missed and hit the edge.
