    Prior with a little downward tilt on the fastball. Not enough pitches to get a good read on him yet though.

    Rich Hill is starting to piss me off. He puts up absolutely ridiculous AAA numbers but fails miserably in the majors. When i see him pitch in the majors i wonder how the hell he does so well in the minors. I would love to see him pitch a game in AAA and see what the heck is going on. He has a great curve but i dont like his fastball that much. Maybe in the minors dudes are waiving at the curve and getting themselves out but in the majors they make him pitch to them and pound the fastball. But he aint walking people in the minors. This is so weird.

    I really like Marmol. Really. Im putting him as my #1, i like his stats in AA and love what i see in the majors. I really like his stuff. If he doesnt make it as a starter he will rule as a setup man. Gallagher appears to be the man too. Marshall. Im not enamored with his stuff yet. He could take some time, he has a good foundation of pitches. If he can start walking people less and get more control of his pitches he will be good. I dont see why he cant get better control, needs consitency. Randy Wells. I havent played much attention to him this year but hes on my radar now. If you aint going to throw hard from the right side i like it if your secondary pitch is a changeup not a curve or slider. Nice stats this year for him. Cedeno is better in the field than i thought. He handles the bat really well. If he didnt handle the bat so well id be worried about his OBP. I think he has the bat skills to improve his BB. He can foul off the tough pitches, just needs to lay off the bad pitches out of zone more often. Mark Reed. Ive totally forgotten about this dude.

    Hey Blanco is hot. 6-11 with 2 HRs in his last 3 games behind the plate. Maybe the suspension has come at the right time, at least for Blanco it has.

    You are assuming he can actually read. Any literate man could read Rusch's stat line and say to themselves....'this fat bastard sucks, tell him to pack his bags before i see him in Cubs uni again.'

    To me Hendry is the one looking like the fool. Sure Dusty trotted him out there but up to today Guzman really hasnt done anything other than had a blue chip on his shoulder. Dusty was visibily pissed at Rusch's last outing and only let him go 1.2. Really how many pitchers get pulled after only (i say only because worse has happened to other pitchers many times) 4 runs. My opinion, and i may be a fool, (wont be the first or last time) is Rusch wont start again because Dusty has finally had enough of him, especially with Guzman finally doing well today. Hendry needs to step up to the plate, admit he has egg on his face and DFA this guy. DFA him when Prior returns. Again i think Dusty is done with him so Hendry needs to man up. Guzman. I didnt see him pitch but the 8ks and 3 hits in 5.1 is pretty impressive. The Tigers aint no slouchers at the plate. Has the real Angel Guzman stood up??? Thats what im leaving this game with. Oh and can someone really suck this bad as Rusch? Man... its HARD to suck this bad.

    What are the Cubs going to do with this guy? He's bounced around from AAA to MLB this year enough. Either keep him in the bigs or trade him for value. He's a good pickup for a lot of ballclubs if the Cubs dont want him in their pen. That, or trade Novoa or Aardsma to make room for this guy. He has no business in AAA when other big league clubs would like to have him. IP.......H....BB....K 22.1...16....6....35! Didnt they send him to AAA to improve his control? Looks to me like he may have answered that. Aardsma could be packaged in a deal to a non-conteder. I dont think a contender would want him. Novoa could be packaged to either or. He is having more MLB success and could be a decent BP addition to conteder. Plus he is cheap and would be under that teams control for many more years, so Cubs will probably get more value out of him. Wuertz-Contenders dont really make July trades for AAA players, even though he might be better than Aardsma or Novoa. Something needs to be done. Either call Wuertz up immediately when he is egibile for the Cubs again or trade Aardsma or Novoa to make room for him. This is getting silly.

    Ha. So true. I was listening to the pregame on WGN radio today and Dusty was giving all sorts of excuses for the loss yesterday. He was saying they weren't really hitting the ball hard against Maddux, just a bunch of bloops. Then he said the Cubs were hitting the ball hard, but they were just hitting it right at people. Pretty much the token excuse this year. "Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a b@#$!?" That's all I can think when he spouts that inane "hit it right at the wrong people" excuse. Yeah, no crap, dummy! That's how people are caught/thrown out! Quit acting like people catching the ball is so unfair and unusual! Right. Then he'll throw out the "ive never seen that before" line to totally cover his ass.
