  1. Turn it over to Howry/Dempster and lets go home.
  2. I thought the 'Old School' way was the manager never told the player to do it. It just happened. Kinda like A Few Good Men, the General never admits to calling for the Code Red until he is on the witness stand. What Ozzie did is 'New School' to me.
  3. Sounds good to me. I like the k's that are swinging and misses. Velocity at 92 is improving and acceptable. Only thing left is how he recovers from this impressive outing. IF he does well recovering this ought to be his last rehab.
  4. Man, i had no idea this was an early game. Oh well i guess i didnt miss much. Sampson-who is this guy give me a break. I was wrong to be happy about Oswalt going to the DL i guess. Would of been better to face him, couldnt of been worse. Marshall-looks like he had a solid game. 84 pitches through 7 innings. 1-0??? These games suck to lose.
  5. Is it unrealistic to expect him to NOT go back to the minors again. 8) Dude is going to stick with the big club. I cant say how i feel about him as a starter in MLB yet but as a reliever i think he is very good now. In the pen he is the #3 RHP. I like his stuff better than Novoa and waaaay better than Aardsma. I tell you what....if this dude was part of the pierre deal and i saw him pitching for florida i would be flip'ed right about now. Cubs got something in this kid. :)
  6. .420 OBP is troubling? .350 and .327 the previous two years. So is the order, in chronological, .327, .350, .420? If that's the case, he's improving quite a bit each year. yeah pretty good. where are people getting this years stats?
  7. [-X Really, i thought ive seen that before here. I will refrain in future. 8)
  8. Wilken didnt wait long to put his ass on the line.
  9. normally the W/L record of a starting pitcher isnt that all accurate. Its dead on for Maddux this year.
  10. He's a starter. Can he start for Rusch the next time his spot in the rotation comes up? He could, but I'd rather see him work on his control in the minors and compete for a rotation spot next year. i dont have a problem with him working out of the pen for the rest of the year. id rather him face mlb hitters in the pen than him starting AA. Hes got good stuff. He really doesnt need 'work'.
  11. i definetly like marmol better than aardsma. he stays aardsman goes down first.
  12. whoa. marmol with a curve. very good live fastball. good location. i think the Cubs have something in this kid.
  13. He never seems to get on base, but he doesn't K much. Before today he had 20 Ks in 228 ABs. I guess I've been trained to single out his K's because he supposedly never K's. He does have a higher rate then he did during the rest of his career. yeah, that is what is scary.
  14. this sucks. give me more marmol please.
  15. now im thinking about it....didnt he pitch the whole inning from the stretch? if so, bonus points for a guy who has been a starter this year
  16. yes. i like his stuff better than aardsma
  17. the pitch he throws for 89 might be a different seem fastball.
  18. its one thing to make an out. its another to get yourself out.
  19. jones and pierre communicate like crap. and that is kind
