  1. People don't realize that these home values have skyrocketed in large part due to the Cubs and Wrigley. Not to mention that you have to go further west to Southport to find these "multi-million" dollar homes, and Southport is largely out of the way of Cubs madness, contrary to popular belief.

  3. Can we stop pretending that Rose is coming back?
  4. Thunderous applause. People still do, and still want to, love DRose.
  5. @sportspickle Chicago Bulls' HR Director Informs Derrick Rose That He's Out of Personal Days - http://is.gd/jleksz
  6. He hasn't I guess to a certain extent, but you can't say that the amount of vitriol against LeBron is anywhere near his first season in Miami. And it seems, or least from my perspective, that most people have begun to appreciate LeBron's talents as opposed to his free agency PR fiasco.
  7. I don't think it's been permanently scarred. If LeBron can recover from the Decision backlash, Rose can certainly recover from the backlash he's received this year. More than likely, we'll forget about this whole quagmire in two seasons, if not by next January. But seriously, if the Bulls and Rose announced that they're going to approach the season as if Rose wasn't coming back, expectations would have been severely tempered and him returning would have been considered gravy. However, they went ahead with the stupid "#TheReturn" horsecrap, which put Rose in a really bad spot in the event that he didn't return. The part that I find really confusing is that they went ahead with the return shenanigan and it appears that all along, Rose had no intention of coming back this year. I can't even comprehend how dumb that is on his part- you're shooting commercials that illustrate that you're coming back, and coming back soon, even though you have no intention of playing this season. Pretty disappointing, if true.
  8. I get the impression that some of it has to do with him being a local boy so you don't want to question someone who is "Chicago Tough". But from the media's perspective, I assume you don't want to alienate Rose and his RP brother to the point where you have limited access, interviews, etc. And since we're on the topic of Rose, is there a huge difference between Cutler and Rose's "body language"? Neither shows a ton of emotion, but yet Cutler gets eviscerated for not showing emotion and Rose gets a pass? The whole thing is confusing.
  9. Between last year's pick of McClellin, the hiring of Trestman, and last night's Long pick, I think it's blatantly obvious that Emery's ego clearly wants to prove that it's the smartest in the room. Consider me worried. At least Angelo was just dumb.
  10. Doug McDermott coming back for his senior year. \:D/ Helps greatly for the transition into the Big East and he has a chance to become a 3x first team all-american. Pretty short list for the 3x'ers.
  11. the @FacebookBears feed is just pure gold today: @FacebookBears 7m I hate to say it but manti has great ball awareness. I think he would be a good canidate if he would stay away from internet porn hookups
  12. 8-53 now with runner on third and less than 2 outs?
  13. Yes, I'm sure all of A&M's athletes are Mensa candidates. {Inserts SEC education joke} {Vanderbilt doesn't count}
  14. While Loyola has been terrible (men's bball) for the past 27 years, seems like a logical addition to replace Creighton for the MVC as far as the private, Jesuit angle goes. Supposedly Loyola has made investments over the past few years to improve their athletic facilities so I guess time will tell whether they'll get a return on the investment.
  15. I didn't know anyone other than Stanton and Coghlan. Maybe Ruggiano? Is it possible the Marlins don't win 50 games?
  16. They're advertising like crazy here in Milwaukee desperately trying to sell tickets. I don't know how this franchise survives in Milwaukee. They're 27th in attendance and it says 15k fans per game (rofl) but they give away a ton of tickets and I've never been to a game more than half full. Meanwhile the Brewers sold out 42k seat Miller Park for a regular season game Saturday. The Bucks are just way off the radar of Milwaukee fans. Do you think they could ever develop a following if they could be a perennial playoff team? if Marquette can draw a large following (always competitive team), you would think that the Bucks could do likewise.
  17. huh? early word is they're coming back tremendous news, if true welp, nevermind then.
  18. ‏@ESPNDanaOneil 4m Michigan announces a 4:30 pm press conference with Glenn Robinson III and Mitch McGary Sounds like they're going pro. Does Michigan go from a likely top-15/20 team to NIT team with GR3 and McGary gone?
  19. Way too early bracketology for next year http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology/_/year/2013
  20. http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/why.gif i lol'd
  21. Sounds like he's not even a first round lock status, but more likely a second rounder. Jeff Goodman was pretty shocked to hear this and could see him possibly not even being drafted. I can see the logic if the player has reached their ceiling, but that doesn't look to the case with Blue.
  22. Marquette's Vander Blue surprisingly entering into the NBA draft. Was a likely preseason favorite for (new) Big East player of the year.
  23. His hearing confidence is only at 105% so likely couldn't hear the MVP chants.
