  1. So Nagy already has been fired and hes gonna coach why? Just cuz it's a short week? That's not a good enough reason. Cutler said Lovie had informed the team he had been fired before his final game. I'm sure there are many others. I didn't remember hearing that they informed Lovie before the game...thought it was the following day because Cutler found out the news during a Waddle & Silvy appearance.
  2. Brandon Scherff played LT at Iowa, but otherwise your point stands (James Daniels, Tristan Wirfs, Riley Rieff, Brian Bulaga, etc).
  3. Psh, don't you know, Nagy's offense takes 3 4 years to get going and things will start to improve in year 4 5 that's right, I forgot that the offense is in Nagy's 404 advanced offense for dummies class.
  4. This is not the second shot I was hoping Jake would get this year
  5. Why else would he be at Wrigley? Tennessee has a double header starting later this afternoon.Maybe stopping before headed to Iowa for AAA promotion?
  6. but until then it's a urn for Tom Ricketts' checkbook
  7. Because pitchers are also applying sticky stuff on the mound
  8. baseball is still very fun! sorry Ricketts (not)
  9. High prices, somewhat short notice to go to full capacity. I'm a little surprised it's that low but not surprised it wasn't a sellout. In some cases so far, the secondary prices are better than face value. Short notice probably a big factor as you noted.
  10. Enough with the DUI talk let's focus on the baseball stuff. Given his age and long break between managing gigs, not a surprise to see him asleep at the wheel.
  11. I'm curious why Len deleted his tweet about Larussa. what did he say?
  12. If I'm the Texans, I'm looking at the bears next three first round picks and thinking they could be pretty valuable considering Nagy's dumb offense plus the defense exiting their primes.
  13. this idiot right here
  14. now I'm interested in watching
  15. It does, Foles is nothing special but, he's average, able to make the correct reads most of the time, make most of the throws, average. If Mitch played yesterday I'm certain they don't score a TD after that interception in the 1st QT, in fact they have still may won the game but, the score probably would have been 17-16. Don't know why, but to me, 17 points seems to be Mitch' specialty, it's not true but, just seems about right every time Mitch starts. Checked the game logs, they've scored 17 points - 3 times, 16-5, 19-1 and 20-2 that's 11 of his 44 starts with only 16-20 points, didn't even want to look at 15,14,etc. was already depressing enough. such a fun (not) exercise to go through. excluding last year's vikings game at home where he got injured early, here are the ghastly point totals with number of times in parentheses: 17 (2) 16 (4) 15 (2) 14 (3) 13 (1) 12 (1) 10 (2) 7 (1) 3 (3!)
  16. Absolutely justified. Nagy is definitely not VERY good. He might be good, and he might be able to become a VERY good coach. But he's not very good. His handling of the kicking situation was terrible and probably raised a lot of eyebrows of players. Montgomery is quite serviceable and probably has another gear, but he's not very good either. Maybe he turns into something else on another team, but he's got 2 100 yard games in 20 games to start his career. He's a pass catching RB that has caught more than 2 in a game just 6 times. No, he hasn't had a great line and he has had to work with garbage QB play most of the time, but a very good RB should have been able to do more than he's done so far. I lean into the theory that Nagy has done a very good job of building culture and has show the ability to manage the locker room but his play calling and scheming doesn't seem to be there. Once the league had the chance to scout Nagy's offense, the scheme doesn't appear to get guys open like it did during the first few months of 2018 and Nagy has seemingly never been able to adjust.
  17. I was at Wrigley in 15, 17, 18, and even the last home game last year. It felt nice not have to be there.
  18. core guy misses meatball, rinse and repeat
  19. at least the marlins will shortly put the cubs out of their misery
  20. Peaks and valleys with this team, on a peak there burying these clowns on the current valley Miami looks like world beaters. I thought taking pitches, grinding out at bats, was the supposed approach? they grind at bats into weak contact and ground balls
  21. And Happ if he's willing to sign an extension. he's the one guy that'll have real value in a trade
  22. pretty clearly the javy single to tie the rockies in the 8th
  23. what we thought was going to be never ending dongs instead ended up being a bunch of really good fielders
