  1. well instead of one day game, they're now getting two... not a huuuuge difference, especially with the last one is "if necessary".
  2. kevin white was at game 4
  3. that said, i hope my girlfriend is ready for my relentless requests of "UNLEASH THY DONGS, NOBLE DONGSMITHS"
  4. pretty sure they showed the tentative schedule last night, and tuesday is set for an afternoon game
  5. Is this a real question? maybe see qeuntin berry this series
  6. Damnit While that sucks for Addison and is not good for the Cubs, it's weird to hear news like that and to not have it feel like a punch to the gut. Not an punch to the gut as you allude to, but I feel like there was a good chance that against the Dodgers lefties, we would have seen baez, russell, castro and rizzo in the infield with Bryant shifting to the outfield. Also one fewer power bat off the in addition to limiting Maddon's ability to mix and match.
  7. ah you're correct. i guess i was alluding to mid-week afternoon games, having game 3 at 230 is going to blow chunks.
  8. i feel like there were no afternoon games during the 2003 NLCS
  9. my seats are in the upper deck and we had no idea where schwarber's ball went. at first glance, i couldn't even tell if it was fair or foul because of how hard he donged that ball. javy's ball was pure majestic dongness. what a game
  10. my god, that paper is the most cardinals thing ever. Photos: "Enjoy it while you can, Cubs fans" Other Quotes: "Heyward struck out swinging, and this cottage on the corner of Addison and Clark had seldom heard such sound." "When it was over, my dear friend Nate Kreckman, a lifelong Cubs sufferer, sent me a message that surely summed up so many thoughts from the Chicago side of things: “It’s all gravy from here on out. Watching the Cubs beat the Cardinals is peak sports fan experience for me.”"
  11. i'm not sure how it sounded on TV, but the crowd was absolutely electric yesterday.. there were so many instances in which you could feel the upper deck shaking. after the javy dong, starlin's song, schwarber's dongshot, after the 8th and 9th inning. simply incredible. after javy donged, i've never seen so many strangers high-fiving and hugging each other.
  12. Schwarber against Cole and then Soler in game 2. i felt like the first soler dong was the moment when i was like holy crap we're going to :flythew: today
  13. oh my god that's incredible, someone buy that man a ton of beer
  14. my girlfriend was getting annoyed with my yelling of "DONG YOU VERY MUCH"
  15. the astros are going full dongsmith mode
  16. Game 1 of the double header was the only time he's seen Jake. Single (picked off first), groundout, walk that's called success against arrieta
  17. after seeing that lineup, i can't seem to find my pants
  18. Buck Martinez was the best part of whatever baseball video game he was a part of. I've always wanted a Lobster Cola. I totally forgot about that. Which game was that? pretty sure it was triple play
  19. http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x368/Poniesss/Gifs/Pinkie-backtrack.gif
  20. I feel so much more relaxed than before the Pirates game. Yep, no matter what there's more after today, so not nearly the nerves of the WC game. Today is really big though, if the Cubs win they're in tremendous shape to win the series in 3 or 4. Yeah, my nervousness is pretty high considering it's not the one-game situation like Wednesday. Like you said, a win puts the Cubs in great position to win the series in three or four games; but, on the flip side, a loss tonight puts the Cubs squarely behind the eight-ball (I'm not sure how much faith I have in Hendricks tomorrow--perhaps I'm wrong--and I'd prefer not to have him pitching on the road looking into the face of a 2-0 deficit). I guess this is my way of saying that, gut feeling, winner of tonight's game wins the series. oh god thanks a lot, now my blood pressure just skyrocketed
