  1. Such as? Sorry, had a crying baby on my lap when I posted that, meant to come back and add quotes http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-cubs/clubhouse-frustration-bubbling-cubs-and-jake-arrieta I guess critical is the wrong word, but I think he was respectfully disagreeing with it. Thanks for adding the quotes. Pretty easy to see from a player's perspective, they're in the moment and are wired to play hard so I see the frustration. It's just a function of playing out the string and avoiding injuries and overuse. My guess is that this boils over after Sunday.
  2. Not necessarily. Last year Game 1 was at, what, 5:30 ET? And that was a Friday as well. Oh, I see what you mean - Wrigleyville. Yeah, I seriously doubt that will be a consideration. Last year was pretty unique in that the big markets during the DS were in the NL as the AL had Toronto, Texas, KC, and Houston. Of course, three of those markets are pretty big but don't attract the eyeballs of Chicago, NY, and LA. This year will include Boston, so it's probable that they'll get night game preference with the likely wild card winner of Baltimore/Toronto. For game 1, my guess is it depends on whether the dodgers pass the nationals - if they do, then it could be similar to last year and that the Cubs will be the early evening game.
  3. this is my favorite JF16 gif think i watched it on loop for a good 5 minutes yesterday, what a cool and fun reaction by Fernandez.
  4. This is absolutely incredible over at GRB - consecutive posts during the cubs bottom of the inning. This series should put us out of our misery We are not anywhere near as good as the Cubs. lololololo Most important game of the year and Kolten Wong is playing (butchering) left field. Anyone feel like defending Matheny today? Kolton Wong in left field is like a clown for my amusement . Or maybe the opposite of amusement. I don't know anymore. good [expletive] grief. what the [expletive] is going on in this [expletive] game Is that two WP now? Just turned it off Ha. Bye game. Why did I bother to make popcorn? Mike Leake just ended our season

  8. I was looking at the Cardinals box score from the other night and realized that Grichuk has been hitting pretty well of late, much on the back of improved play since his second return from the minors. In thee second half, he has 86 AB's with 5.5% BB and 40.7% K Of course his OPS is somehow .925 with an ISO of .372

  11. In addition to Zobrist's contact skills, his patience can really drive up the SP's pitch count if you have one of the previous dongsmiths on base. Also, I think someone alluded that having Bryant hitting 2nd is that they can take advantage of his superior baserunning ahead of Rizzo and Zobrist, while still having his shiny .386 OBP as well.
  12. If he doesn't change his name then maybe he'll be Heyward Banned
  13. Maddon is so innovative that he's skipping a SS, I like it

  15. He also has to be white, have little physical talent, and have a poor minor league track record and grit & hustle a valid driver's license to later be revoked for DUI
  16. We get him out when it counts: https://gfycat.com/SarcasticPleasantArgusfish\ Damn this still gets me jazzed up. I was at the game behind the third base dugout & that Schwarbomb was the loudest crack of the bat I ever heard Place was shaking to WHOOMP THERE IT IS! re-watching Javy's dong still gives me the goosebumps. I was sitting in the upper deck and the shaking was incredible
