  1. Go young bears players, but please lose to the R Words
  2. I'd be shocked if Dylan Cease was really off the table for freaking Chris Sale. And that deal would be a huge winner for the Cubs.
  3. Thanks. Anyone have any idea how early you'd need to get there? I called Schoolyard and they were anticipating a line by 4:30.
  4. i'll be nervous as heck during the game, but i can't tell you how excited i am for this. as we all know, there's unfortunately a damn good chance that this year ends tonight without a title. but damnit if this isn't my favorite team, in any sport, ever. but it's November 1st and my favorite team needs two wins to win the horsefeathers world horsefeathers series. #LetsGo

  10. You'll be fine for lunch. Unless you're planning to be at a Wrigley bar the whole time, you won't need to be at places at the crack of dawn. For reference, I knew someone that got to a clark street bar by around 130 on Saturday to hang out and watch college football while waiting for 7pm to roll around. Another nearby neighbors is Southport and it's not nearly as crazy but you're still a 10-15 minute to Clark Street.

  13. i put my head down and cried, honestly it felt like the weight of 03, 04 collapse, and 08 miserable sweep was finally lifted. for a variety of obvious and non-obvious reasons, those three seasons are the ones that really hurt.
  14. They seem pretty set on moving Puig and Turner is a FA already so I'm guessing they will be heavily involved going after the RH FA bats like Cespedes, Encarnacion, Bautista, Desmond, Gomez, Trumbo and re-signing Turner. Funny thing is that Turner has a .640 OPS against lefties this year
  15. Floyds (just off the Western blue line stop) has been my go to so far this playoffs, but that's mostly because I'm in the area. Good draft list, have played the volume every game. Frontier is off the division stop, little closer to the city, and will also have a good beer list...can't confirm the volume, but I think it's safe to assume (pretty sure I was there for Giants royals game 7 last year and they played the volume). Edit: I should note that these are more dive/corner bars, especially Floyds. They'll be crowded, but mostly just with regulars. If you're looking for more of a boisterous atmosphere, I'd recommend getting off at Division and walking west until you run into something that looks appealing...50/Fifty, Fat Pour, The Boundary, The Anthem. Those will all be a bit bigger/louder. If you're focused on the beer, Links Taproom off the Damen stop probably has the best selection. I second the edited recommendations. Links Taproom has an excellent beer list but will likely be a little more low key.
