  1. This catcher has a 22% CS%. Definitely surprised they aren't trying to steal here. Wonder if PCA will try to drop one down for a hit here against the lefty.
  2. Ahhh Seiya I know he's been wild but that was a cookie.
  3. He fielded it running towards the base path and directly in front of the runner. Obviously the IF was in for a reason to get him at home but once that ball was hit it should have been thrown to 1st IMO.
  4. you were never going to get him at home come on. 1-0 Pirates
  5. Damn you are right...didnt realize it was that bad .147 .205 .235 .440
  6. Most he's thrown is 108 this year, but I'm not sure they bring him out with 95 pitches unless they like the matchup against Seiya and bring in a lefty to face PCA
  7. He was out by like 4 steps, not sure if they needed to both be good throws. Catcher could have caught it to his right and turned and still made the out imo
  8. When O'neill fielded it cleanly off the wall I thought "well there's no way they're gonna send Happ here" Damn...at least at 95 pitches he might not be back out there.
  9. Skubal has also gone through TJS before. Is that still a thing where its better if you've already been through it once?
  10. Solid AB but man it frustrates me when Seiya takes a strike 3 like that especially after fighting off 3 tough pitches in a row.
  11. I think you’re just basing too much on a down stretch which is part of the ebbs and flows of baseball. The Cubs were always unlikely to average 6 runs per game all season, but they’ll likely have another solid stretch where they do. They’re a very good offense with hitters who have track records against good pitching. You just have to ride out bad stretches and hope the offense isn’t in one of those ruts in October.
  12. Maybe it's because they're good pitchers? Like that's what good starters are supposed to do, make good hitters look bad. Sometimes the hitters win out but elite pitching is very tough to hit.
  13. Would it help if I told you that Skenes shortest start this year and 2nd most ERs given up was his start against the Cubs in May? Edit: also least strikeouts and most walks
  14. I think Craig just wanted Palencia to face the heart of the Pirates order, though looking at their individual OPSs there doesn't seem to be a huge difference in OPS for 2-3-4 and 5-6-7
  15. Wonder if he was taking out the righty vs Tucker regardless. I'm assuming a lefty is coming in here.
  16. I was just looking back at Skenes' first MLB start against the Cubs and saw that Nico homered off him to give him his first MLB ER and I did a double take.
  17. How do you prepare to sing in front of 40,000 fans and not get familiar with the lyrics to the song? lol
