  1. Correa HR, Cubs now have the 2nd best RD in baseball and without looking i'm gonna guess they've played fewer games than the teams around them in the rankings Yep. And even better way to put the RD into perspective: +87 in 54 games = on pace for +261 RD for the season 2016 Cubs RD: +252
  2. Not making any argument, just pointing out as you sort of eluded to that Win Shares is a cumulative stat (as is VORP) and while longevity should be used as a point of evaluation, it’s worth noting that MJ’s WS/48 over his career is higher than LeBron's. Either way MJ was my sports idol growing up and I’m heavily biased towards him. That said LeBron has in my eyes evened himself up with MJ to the point where I see 1 and 1a. Overall it doesn’t matter to me who is the real GOAT...both will be viewed as legends in a tier with just each other (although you can make a case for some guys that came before MJ). Also by the time we get done settling this debate, someone else will probably show up and challenge GOAT status and this will happen again. So I won’t worry about it.

  4. In real time the Cubs are currently 1 run away from having the 2nd best RD in baseball
  5. So a walk, hard hit single, K, ball that probably could have been a double and hard hit ball caught with a slide at the wall. Great start...only 1 walk!
  6. Was he the one known for going like 0-4 with 4 Ks in his first game at every new level or was that Javy?
  7. Read that when he first tweeted it...I enjoyed it even as an MJ fan.
  8. 12-12 in May. Win will give us a winning month which, considering we started the month losing 5 straight games, is ok
  9. This seems kind of strange. Maybe I’ve been out of the loop but I don’t remember anyone making fun of him for going on the DL with the flu or for going on the DL 2 times in general. And despite some groaning about his iffy start I haven’t felt like there has been an abundance of hate for Yu at alll.
  10. Outscore them 16-6 in the series but only win 2 of 3. Very 2018 Cubs type of series
  11. Well on the bright side somehow a combo of Rosario, Mazzoni and Wilson have pitched 3 scoreless innings.
  12. It’s like the Cubs win a couple of games and ease off the gas pedal
  13. Kyle should have put down a bunt after the pick off. At least give us a shot with RISP and 2 outs
  14. His BABIP has always trended high. Not .379 but it was .338 last year. If there's some regression that is fine as long as he is contributing on both sides of the plate and continuing to play defense at a high rate.
  15. I have nothing to add except
  16. Thats...better than its been in recent seasons.
  17. Pool the Cubs will be celebrating in after clinching the Central during the Sept 17-19 series.
  18. I just can’t wait for tree’s real gam thread
  19. Heyward always bottoms out and then poops out a week of good ABs to get peoples hopes up before going into his usual 5-47 slump
