  1. I still overwhelmingly think we will win the division but scary question: if it was today, who do you trust on the Cubs to start a 1 game playoff? Try to get 5 out of Lester then go Cishek, Edwards, Strop, Morrow? Edit: other thought - if the Cubs won the WC the Brewers almost certainly end up as the 1 seed. Would love to smack down the Brewers like we did the Cardinals
  2. Hah Starlin just went deep on Hader to tie up the Brewers Edit: and they go back to back to take the lead. Good work Hader
  3. This almost feels like the PED era again with people in their 30s having career years and making the All-Star game. Crawford (31) Markakis (34) Kemp (33) Ramos (31) Mooreland (32) Brantley (31) Choo (36) Happ (35) Players in their 30s make it all the time but all these guys are either making their first All-Star team, having a resurgence after some down seasons or are making some sort of leap at a late age.
  4. Right now Lester is scheduled to pitch Friday (if they skip Chatwood with the off day Thursday) or Saturday. So Lester likely wont be on the team and be replaced since he’s on either 2 or 3 days rest for the all star game. Which is good, let him go and enjoy the festivities if he wants but save some bullets and get more rest. The only pitchers who are replaced are the ones that start on Sunday. Given that Tuesday would be his bullpen day he was almost certainly be available to give an inning if he is asked
  5. Damn no Schwarber in the final vote. He deserves to at least be in the final 5
  6. How to get as close as you can to scoring without actually scoring
  7. Come on Bote you have to score on that. No reason to hold up
  8. Well hopefully the All star rosters are already set for Lester and Morrow’s sake
  9. this game better not end with Hamilton’s BS being the difference
  10. Just looking at how bizarre the Cubs schedule is right now. 2 different West Coast trips in a 3 week span. The Cubs did not get a day off traveling west either time, nor a day off traveling home to Chicago the first time (the 2nd trip ends at the ASB). BUT, during the homestand in between the West Coast trips they are given 2 days off. And on this next West Coast trip they are given a day off in between west coast series. Strange
  11. Think he was trying to bait him to go. Nice 4D chess move F that. There was 2 outs. Just get the hitter out
  12. Second straight time Hamilton comes up with 2 outs and no one on and ends up scoring a run.
  13. What the horsefeathering horsefeathers was that horsefeathers
  14. So annoying we should have at least 5 runs the way we are hitting him
  15. I see the VBs are pounding another all star caliber starter today
  16. Hope this isn’t the start of the regression. We don’t have the ability to withstand another shitty starting pitcher
  17. I think Hamilton made a deal under the table with Cubs pitchers to keep him in the majors.
  18. Would love to see some analysis from someone that doesn’t jinx Cubs about Russell’s hot streak. If this is actually a hot streak or if he looks like he’s making a leap.
  19. I have a bad feeling that Rizzo isn’t going to age well.
  20. Best case Baez, Contreras, Schwarber, Lester and Morrow. Bryant a very slight possibly if he happened to be voted in after his hot start. Zobrist and Almora could make cases but almost certainly won’t be under strong consideration.
