    So I decided to start another Mad Men viewing (3rd time through the series)....we are going to have another Mad Men gif theme before the end of the year right? Or did we decide that themed gif threads no longer work?

    Even if we do win the division, it sucks that this run has put the Cardinals in a prime spot for a WC berth, just 1 win away from another NLDS matchup with the Cubs. Not that I'm afraid of them, but I really want to have that playoff series victory bragging rights for as long as possible.

    The Dodgers are a near image of what we'd be dealing with if we didnt win Game 7 (minus the 108 year stigma continuing). Some of the responses are lamenting on how very little has gone right since the World Series. Others are calling it an aberration and they are set up to be the class of baseball for the next several years.

    Since August 1, the Cardinals have gone 16-4. So sure, if you want to extrapolate that out and say the Cardinals will play .800 ball the rest of the year, it'll be tough for us to get the 97 wins we would need to win the division. We'd have to go 26-12, by the way, which is entirely possible. But it absolutely won't be necessary. Yeah this is likely at the end of our bad run and the cardinals good run. I still have scars from 2004 though when the Astros played like .900 ball the last month of the season and never eased up while we plodded along and finished several games back.

    id generally agree but I'd like to not immediately have a 9 game road trip. Maybe 6 games, then 3 at home, then 3 in milwaukee or something. The rest of April can be on the road for all I care...it just doesn't completely feel like the season has started until that first game at Wrigley.
