  1. Given that we haven’t scored 6 runs in a game this year things are not looking good
  2. Leadoff walk, Javy swings through 3 fastballs in the strike zone, Heyward gets a great pitch to hit on 2-0 and pops it up.
  3. I'm lost, are the Blackhawks buyers or sellers or a little of both?
  4. Quote from Contreras after yesterday's game. I'm not a professional baseball player but it seems like a pretty silly reason for struggling doesn't it?
  5. Exactly half of the Cubs 26 runs over 9 games have come via HR. The Cubs have hit 11 HR this year, 9 solo shots and 2 HR with one man on
  6. Cubs live RD is -11 which is 3rd worst in the NL woo hoo
  7. Maybe we’ll get more value starting our sell off in June vs July
  8. The Pirates went 0-3 with a -22 RD against the Reds but are on track to be 3-3 with a +3 RD against the Cubs. Yuck Early season SSS but still
  9. The Cubs are the only team in baseball to not have a 6+ run game yet this year
  10. Could have been Yu starting tonight. But at least I can travel to Arizona, climb some fences and sneak a peak at 4 teenagers
  11. So coming into today the Cubs had 19 runs scored on 21 hits in their first 6 games. They finally have a game where they've gotten a ton of hits (10!) and its resulted in...3 runs Which on the surface is below average but not highly unusual, but just funny given how the rest of the season has gone.
  12. hes been the best hitter on the team this year. not that its saying much
  13. I’m not going to overreact to a weeks worth of games or anything but it’s not like 2016 or 2017 where we knew the Cubs were an amazing team and they’d get it together. I don’t think this team will be terrible (unless they are sellers in July) and there are some promising signs like the pitching overall but no lock that they will end up being good
  14. Oh well, at least we got 3 hits - our 3rd best output of the season!
  15. dammit i forgot about this stupid extra innings rule. thats not fair to the cubs because they cant hit
  16. hey they can still be fun on occasion
  17. And gave up a legit hit, Happ hit that ball pretty hard. Right into the shift, but it somehow found a hole. BABIP luck is starting to turn!
  18. It makes me feel better that the Brewers defense has prevented him from having a perfect game
  19. 18-154 (.117) for the season. Sorry I'll try to keep the updates less frequent
  20. Just for fun (or not fun), the Cubs are 39-300 (.129 BA) over their last 10 games played at Wrigley Field and have scored 20 total runs in those 10 games. This includes: -The final home series of 2020 against the Twins (12-91 .132, 2 runs) -The NLWC Sweep by the Marlins (9-62 .145, 1 run) -The 6 (or 5.4) games to start this season (18-147 .121, 17 runs)
  21. If it makes you feel better, my perception is that the Cubs are starting to be like this with the pitch lab taking lesser regarded pitchers and turning them into decent or even good pitchers. At least for the pen. The jury is still out regarding guys like Trevor Williams
