  1. Smart decision, though I wish they'd also focus on more Cubs coverage. Its still weird that they don't do things like air Theo's end of season press conference. We could consistently rely on NBC Sports Chicago to air any relevant press conferences from any of the teams. It feels like we're paying more money for less coverage of the team. Maybe its something they will eventually get better at.
  2. I was just thinking how cool it would have been if they didn’t already repurpose the old Globe Life park for football. They could have had a true bubble with games going on simultaneously across the street from each other
  3. I could go either way. Also have to consider how Dalton coming in will affect Gallup’s value. Might not change it much at all but there are certainly other good weapons in that offense and he might feel more chemistry with Amari Cooper or something. But you need RBs so I’d strongly consider it
  4. What always amused me about Joe is that he had such contempt for stats like OBP and just the concept of building teams who walked a lot, so you'd think he was a high average/low OBP type of guy, but the dude led the league in walks and OBP 4 different times in his career so he certainly had the mentality he claimed to despise. He was almost the exact prototype of the type of hitter most of the SABR aware FOs were looking for circa 2000-2008
  5. Just need to go 5-6 the rest of the way to likely make the playoffs. Only loss so far is AFC team so helps with tiebreakers
  6. Can’t believe the Bears finally beat Brady. Good stuff. This is such a weird team
  7. Re: Roughing the passer. If they are going to protect the quarterback and call everything borderline, why not have 2 levels of severity for roughing the passer? The blatant ones or helmet to helmet are still 15 and a 1st. The borderline one where the defender finishes his tackle a split second after the pass can be 5 yards and remains the previous down. I’m sick of seeing those plays that are completely unintentional and ultimately harmless being given such an extreme punishment.
  8. Just think we only had to give up a 4th to pay Foles $20m with a couple other better options out there
  9. I put it on him for sure. He's gotta attack the ball better. Also would be nice to have a QB that doesn’t underthrow it as badly as Foles
  10. Also Foles looks terrible. Everything is overthrown and underthrown. If we wanted more of that we’d just keep Mitch in there
  11. Brady hasn’t faced the Bears a ton but when he has, annoying losses follow 2002 - Bears blow 28-3 lead 2006 - Rex throws 5 INTs, Brady jukes Urlacher for game winning 1st down 2010 - Pats blow out the Bears by like 35 points in a blizzard 2014 - Pats put up 50+ on the Bears. Disappointing FA signing Lamarr Houston tears his ACL celebrating a sack with 2 mins left down 40 2018 - Mitch throws a Hail Mary that is caught at the 1 which would have tied the game if it was a TD
  12. Who can we get at Crawford's cost that will change that dynamic?
  13. Screw you stan
  14. Damn I missed The Funbag
  15. Projects to like a 1 WAR player in the majors IIRC
  16. There's some games this week....maybe Stephon Gilmore tested positive for COVID today, and the Titans had 2 more positives today that caused them to cancel their return to practice. Oh and here is Gilmore hugging Mahomes after the game on Monday: This is quickly falling apart. But then again, I thought that at one point about baseball and they were somehow able to rein it in.
  17. I had no idea that Pierce Johnson was a thing in San Diego. Amazing how pitchers can develop after they leave the Cubs org (kidding somewhat)
  18. I mean that's the new deadspin in a nutshell. They are trying to create controversy instead of reporting on it.
  19. Mike Davis, who received 11 carries for 25 yards in 7 games with the Bears last year, has 202 yards from scrimmage and 2 TDs in his 2 starts for the Panthers this year.
  20. The Yankees have hit 11 home runs in 3 playoff games. I really wish our dongsmiths actually donged
  21. Of course my opponent has ARob. Got 15 points on that completely meaningless drive, taking my win odds from 72% to 55%. Why can’t the Bears stop kicking me in the balls today?
