    Nevermind I’m going back to undecided on Harbaugh. I think it boils down to this: Outside of the 10 year war, the Michigan program has never consistently played at the level the fans demand of their program. In 5 seasons Harbaugh was 1 inch short of likely going to the CFP and another year where they were an OSU win away (though got blown out). He is not at the uberest elite level but he’s also consistently a solid team. I’m kind of ok with keeping Harbaugh and accepting that maybe 20% of the time he’ll have a contending caliber team, but the rest of the time he’s going to be in that 9-4 range.* But I’m also ok with risking stability and trying to find that coach that can take Michigan to the next level. tbh, you are probably not going to find that person, but if the goal is to build an annual contender then go this route. But be warned - we may end up in RichRod/Hoke territory also. * this is pending him finding a way to start winning rivalry games. Not asking him to even go .500 against Ohio State, 30-40% of the time sounds shitty but based on how much better Ohio State is as a program right now, it’s a minimal level of competency in a rivalry.

    Ok I may finally be there with Harbaugh. Unlike many UM fans I’d be somewhat ok with 9-4’s many years if there was an occasional 11-1 mixed in there. His inability to beat Ohio State has prevented that from happening in the years Michigan had that caliber team. The one thing Harbaugh had going for him was almost never losing games he should win. This was a game they should have won, transition year or not. Have no idea why those catches on the final MSU drive were not challenged. One of them would have taken the defense off the field down 3. Instead they drove for a TD. Unacceptable. I still really like the potential Milton shows even if it’s clearly not all the way there, but the defense couldn’t pressure the QB and the secondary, specifically one guy got picked apart for virtually every consequential MSU offensive play.

    Jon Lester thanks fans by holding super spreader events throughout the city. Apparently he chose those bars specifically after he confirmed that they are reservation only (thus limiting capacity), and was assured that all mask wearing and social distancing guidelines are strongly enforced. I think I read also only outdoor seating but I could be wrong. Probably not 100% safe but at least he put some effort into ensuring the safety of the people taking him up on the offer and helping to support bars who are likely struggling.

    Maybe...he's always been more hands on with the Sox and has made it clear that they are his preferred team over the Bulls. I believe his pre-2005 quote was that he would trade all 6 Bulls championships for 1 White Sox World Series win. So it makes sense that he delegated the day to day to Michael Reinsdorf several years ago but is still pushing these major decisions for the Sox.

    They did the same thing in the ALCS and Snell wasn’t happy about that one either. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/astros-vs-rays-blake-snell-unhappy-about-quick-hook-in-alcs-game-6-as-move-backfires-for-tampa/ Snell only had 23 PA facing an hitter for the 3rd time in a game all season so clearly the Rays don’t want him to pitch deep into games but man he was cruising. Sometimes that stuff matters too

    Eh. Mitch got 40 games, Foles can get more than 4, especially since he's the one of the two that has a contract for next year. As for playcalling, it's not like someone else calling the plays will turn this into a 25 ppg scoring unit. Maybe you get to a point where 4th down conversions are made and you don't cut off half the field on the goalline, but this is still a talent issue. Yeah my comment was more about playcalling. No we probably wont all the sudden have a good offense with a different playcaller, there are massive issues on the offensive line that prevent any hope of that IMO. But we could get an incremental improvement, enough that the offense may be able to score a few more points and at least stay on the fielder longer to prevent the defense from tiring out late in games. It's not much but its an easy cost-free move to make if Nagy puts his ego aside

    So nagy confirms he will stick with playcalling and Foles still at QB. His stubbornness will be his downfall.

    One thing I think is interesting is how frequently the Bears score in desperation or garbage time in games after doing virtually nothing on offense the rest of the game. Both losses this year they scored 3 points on offense until late in the game. In the Colts game they got a TD and 2PT to make it a 1 possession game with seconds left. Today while they didnt score any points, the offense really started to move after they went down 17-3, they just either turned it over by interception or on downs. Definitely goes along with the old observation that Mitch seems to vastly improve when the Bears get down or its late in the game and he needs to play on instinct instead of whatever BS gameplan Nagy puts together and miraculously the Bears start moving the ball down the field.

    Have we seen him actually blame himself for stuff like this? I don't listen to his press conferences but from the tidbits I pick up I hear him say that he's so confused about what isn't working. I'm not saying playcalling is even the biggest reason they suck but it's definitely a legitimate reason. He does really weird stuff that makes no sense in the flow of the game. That said, on Sunday I watched Kingsbury call 7 straight run plays (I guess they could have been RPO's that Kyler decided to run on) during a drive that started with under 7 mins left in the game and his team down 10. They kicked a FG at like 2:45 left, and were fortunate to be able to get the ball back and score a TD, but it was really strange playcalling. So maybe he's not alone in making questionable decisions.

    I get that the Bears offensive line sucks and doesn’t open holes for Montgomery but I’m leaning towards him not being good. He struggles to get extra yards even when he’s given space. I just don’t see it

    So in 2 of Foles first 3 starts he’s led the team to 3 points except a last minute garbage time TD and again 3 points tonight

    Honestly not a bad idea. He’s obviously doing something right if this team is mostly winning. Must be a players coach. But his playcalling is so head scratching. Delegate that sit and focus on what you are good at

Great that they’ve managed to make timely plays to prevent more damage but overall they haven’t looked good to me No it's not good. But even the best defenses aren't going to dominate every game. The 85 Bears allowed 35+ against the Dolphins. The problem is they need to dominate every game to have a chance. The real issue is the offense and only the offense. Sure by no means am I saying the Bears defense is bad overall. Just tonight. And mostly relative to their usual standards

    Everyone says this. But the defense is fine. Not dominating, but 17 points thru 3 quarters should win games with a normal offense. They've played on half a field most of the game too. Is 6.7 yards per play good? I’m seriously asking. They seem like they have been gashed all game and not just because they are tired, it started from the first drive.
