  1. If someone people described as a generational QB and someone described as the hottest head coaching prospect in several years/offensive mastermind can’t figure it out, yeah it’s gonna be very difficult to get excited about the Bears for a while. i feel decently confident that its gonna work out though
  2. horsefeathers I remember that game. I remember leaving for my college job when it was 7-1, then checking the score a few times and every time I checked Pujols hit another HR.
  3. You and I were at the same game. I was in the CF bleachers...only game I went to that year. Was always disappointed I missed 61 and 62 by a day, but still saw number 60 and a crazy comeback.
  4. what if the Brewers never lost again? They just kept winning and winning until the sun swallowed up the Earth?
  5. Ugh we play in St. Louis next? I'm not emotionally ready for a Cardinals series right now lol
  6. I think it's more of a 3rd time facing batters thing.
  7. Why Pomeranz here? EDC much worse from the right side? Edit: ahh yeah big time. .921 vs righties vs. .658 vs lefties
  8. feels like we're either gonna win 1-0 or we're not gonna win.
  9. Of course a nice line drive but caught. I'll take the run but it could have made this inning that much more dangerous
  10. I have absolutely zero desire to have the Cubs play a game right now. Why can't a random thunderstorm show up out of nowhere to wash it away?
  11. yeah I can understand that it was frustrating. maybe if it was a normal season I'd have cared more. But everything about that season seemed so fake I just shrugged my shoulders and moved on.
  12. I wasn't frustrated at all. For one, the entire season felt fake. Plus the offense had really struggled down the stretch of the season so I wasn't surprised that they struggled. If they played 162 games, I don't think the Cubs win the Central, so it didn't suck as much to me.
  13. So winning the World Series is the best case scenario? What more is there? lol
  14. I mean the Diamondbacks went to the World Series in 2023 with an 84-78 record. Cardinals won it with an 83-78 record. Yes those are exceptions but it's absolutely a weighted crapshoot. Yes the best teams will have slightly better odds but every playoff team has a legitimate shot if they are playing well.
  15. Would have been nice to see some fight offensive but nope 3 up 3 down. I’m posting this before the last out is made, just assuming
  16. This does have a 2023 feel to it. We were so hot especially offensively from like mid-June through early-August 2023, we looked like the most dangerous offense in the league. Then the offense trailed off the pen imploded and we missed the playoffs by a game
  17. Are you referring to the play that single handedly kept the Cubs out of the playoffs as they would have made it if he caught it on the fly? That one was even more impactful than Seiya's drop in Atlanta. Cubs still miss the playoffs if they win that game, but they make it if they go 2-5 against Arizona instead of 1-6
  18. At this point, the 5 game series is an advantage for Milwaukee. Yes the opportunity is there to win 5 straight and gain 5 games. It's more likely than winning the actual lottery but less likely than the Bulls winning the draft lottery in one of their 40-42 seasons. if the Brewers lose 3 of 5, they knock 5 games off the schedule and only lose a game in the standings (and lose the tiebreaker I guess). If they go 3-2, 4-1 or 5-0 they obviously benefit. Cubs only make a dent if they go 4-1 or 5-0
