  1. I hate how all of this is so public too...just a shitty situation all around.
  2. USMNT show England how to hold a 1-0 lead for 89 minutes in a continental tournament.
  3. Series win is a series win, but being 1 out away from losing the series is not an inspiring way to come out of the break
  4. Dammit Winkler, teams are going to realize how badly you suck now
  5. Noticed today that Wisdom has a 58% 3TO%. Still only about 220 PA in his career but that is Dunnesque Taylor McGregor sounds totally smashed on the broadcast
  6. It is pretty ridiculous that we pay premium money for a Cubs only channel and it has major technical difficulties effectively ruining the biggest play of the game
  7. First series win for the Cubs since the sweep of the Cardinals at Wrigley June 11-13, breaking a 0-6-2 streak.
  8. When Boog said the Diamondbacks were 2-52 this year when scoring less than 5 runs, I knew that the Cubs morbid offense could help turn that around for them.
  9. That doesn’t sound right. 29th?
  10. Kofi back to Illinois as expected. That makes Illinois, Michigan and Purdue barttorviks 3,4 and 5 teams for next years forecast
  11. I feel like that so rarely happens in reality that you can count the times it does work out on one hand, but I'm ok with that strategy even with the high risk that he does not come back.
  12. It's interesting...I don't remember Dutchvalue giving off douchy vibes like Joc pre-Cubs, but I don't think Joc had any hits in the 2 Dodgers playoff series that hurt even close to as much as Todd's 3 run double in Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS. In fact looking at the numbers he helped the Cubs, going a combined 5-26 (.491 OPS) with 2 extra base hits (both doubles), 1 RBI and a 39% K rate in the 2 series. Todd was actually pretty awesome for the Cubs in 2004 and was starting to play every day until he got hurt for the season in like June. In 2005 he came back and was terrible before being traded in August to the braves. To me the worst thing about Todd was that he was so bad with the Marlins in 03, they had to bring up a 20-year-old Miggy early and he helped them get them the WC and the rest is history. My memory is pretty fuzzy, but it seems like he was blocking some prospect from getting regular playing time while he was with the Cubs. Side note: Can you imagine any team trading a 25 year old with Miggy skills? I could be way off but I think it was Jason Dubois
  13. Wrong answer. 14. Playoff odds per BR: Braves 25.7%%, Cubs 4.5% Playoff odds per FG: Braves 9.0%, Cubs 3.9% Does that take into account not having Acuna the rest of the year? I get that they are in a better position than the Cubs…but not that much better and they lost their best player for the season. Seems like they hope that Joc can give them like 60% of what they are missing with Acuna and then hope the rest of the team plays better like they should. They are also in the middle of their window so I’m not suggesting they sell.
  15. Does it seem strange that the Braves, who are only 0.5 games better than the Cubs at 44-45, are buying after losing Acuna? I know their division is closer and this isn’t exactly a franchise changing move but seems a bit odd
  16. Single A player. At least he’ll get to the majors before Yu’s kids
  17. touche. I guess for the C's they just reversed the logo. But here are a few other examples
  18. I just saw this I feel like they have to be creating these terrible designs on purpose...just cant figure out what that purpose is yet. In the past 2 months they put out that clip art looking hat with a ton of laughable inaccuracies, then the weird font and now upside down logos. This is a strategy of some sorts.
  19. If that ball gets by the fielder Bryant is in the running for MVP with an NL win
  20. And then gets to answer questions about the Cubs 11 game losing streak and imminently being traded. Fun 10 mins for him.
  21. Interesting. A lot of people seem to like him and the Bulls seem to do ok with these international stashes (like Mirotic and Asik though this was a different regime and there were misses like Zipser).
  22. You do know he’s injured right?
  23. US Mens team loses to Australia now. Just exhibition games of course but damn
  24. mineaswell have one. Time for Shohei to have himself an All Star week Do you think Kimbrel is going to be the first All-Star ever whose manager begs for him to pitch in the game because he needs work to stay sharp? (1.1 IP and 23 total pitches thrown over the last 19 days).
