  1. I mean I do remember hearing murmurs about his work ethic last year when things were going south...I think those were circulated on 670 but don't remember who was "reporting" it. But yeah none of the reputable sources have said anything like that especially this preseason in particular which by all accounts Caleb has been engaged, working his ass off, taking well to coaching, etc.
  2. im reading more, this guy is a packers fan and his likely sources are coaches let go after last year (which makes sense given some of what was reported). Oh well I'll leave it up but by no means should it be treated as fact.
  3. No idea how reputable this guy is and I don't have paid access but it sounds like a long form piece breaking down and criticizing Poles' process for drafting Caleb. Obviously take everything with a huge grain of salt as it sounds like a hit piece but figured I'd share anyways https://www.golongtd.com/p/house-of-dysfunction-part-i-the-curious https://www.golongtd.com/p/house-of-dysfunction-part-ii-inside This is how Grok summarized it: Part 1: Part 2:
  4. Agreed. It was frustrating me that it was even being discussed
  5. Not really, I was just trying to be funny. I think most people don't believe strand rate is a legitimate trait a pitcher has for the most part.
  6. They took the guy out with a historic strand rate and his runners left on scored immediately. Not smart Craig
  7. I really don't understand why they keep him. I don't know anyone who likes him and he's just so bad at it after years of doing it. Pat must have a soft spot for him, but I really hope they aren't seriously grooming him as Pat's replacement.
  8. I fully expected with literally every advantage pointed the Cubs way offensively except Tucker being out that this dude would shut us down
  9. stupid streameast being raided. too lazy to look for another stream site and too cheap to reup with apple
  10. Wind is expected to be blowing heavily out to RF today and the Nats have a righty on the mound. If the Cubs can't homer today the offense really is broken.
  11. I saw that. I was at the same game. The infamous Adrian Peterson game....he didn't have to wait long to get his first Bears heartbreak.
  12. The game he messed up his ankle early and Michigan couldn’t block Chop Robinson? It was bad enough that he was limping into the stadium the next week and they almost pulled him at halftime against Maryland because he was in so much pain. If that game was so damning, he wouldn’t have been a top 10 pick.
  13. In 2023 the Rangers were 42-45 against above .500 teams and won the World Series, the Astros lost to them in Game 7 of the ALCS and were 42-43, and the Diamondbacks lost to the Rangers in that World Series and were 40-50. In 2022, the Padres and Phillies squared off in the NLCS with the Padres having a 38-44 record against above .500 teams and Phillies 34-47. It really doesn't matter imo.
  14. They have 22 games to learn how to hit again. I would never have imagined in June that its the offense that I'd be so worried about but here we are.
  15. The Dilfer comparison doesn’t make sense to me. Dilfer had a big arm but he was inaccurate and a total statue in the pocket. JJ’s game is built on accuracy, efficiency, and he can actually move around and make plays when things break down. Totally different style of QB. Michigan’s offense in 2023 wasn’t average, they were something like 12th in the country in offensive SP+. Harbaugh ran a really conservative, run heavy system because he had the best defense in the country. It wasn’t built to put up video game numbers like Washington or Oregon, but it was still really good. Within that setup JJ still completed 72 percent of his passes, threw 22 touchdowns with only 4 picks, and had one of the best efficiency ratings in the country. When they needed him to make plays he almost always did. Not saying that means he’ll be an elite QB. He’s not perfect but he has a solid arm and great poise and leadership abilities. Like most QBs coming into the league, his ability to adjust to the speed of the NFL and being able to process plays quickly will be a big factor in whether he will succeed. Having O’Connell coaching him definitely helps. (C’mon I had to make one last defense of JJ before I have to start hating him on Monday)
  16. They have an off day tomorrow right? Why are Ben Brown and Drew Pomeranz bringing us home
  17. Maybe score more than 1 run against a pitcher with an ERA near 6?
  18. How many innings in a row is McGuire gonna let the tying run get to 2B on a passed ball?
  19. As bad as Brown has been, that’s 3 strikes called balls so far. Grr
  20. Not a smart idea to start 3-0 to the 8 and 9 hitters to bring up Acuna, Olsen, Albies, etc
  21. Cubs turned into a terrible base stealing team yeesh
