  1. For you, the identities of the teams and where they sit currently on Bracket Matrix:
  2. Blind Resume time....how would you rank these teams? Yes Michigan is one of them and yes they are probably easy to pick out but try to be objective
  3. Hopefully he goes back to serial killer looking Ian Happ and not lovable podcaster Ian Happ
  4. Don't understand, a couple of years ago Alan Griffin got two games for stepping on someone, Kofi gets three for selling t-shirts, should have been at least two games. I wonder if Howard' anger was the result of what happened earlier in the game. Davison threw an elbow into Dickinson' gut, officials reviewed and deemed it a "basketball" play yeah, in prison rules basketball, it was a cheap shot. Wisconsin always seems to have a player pushes the boundaries a bit This does not excuse what happened afterwards but Davison is one of the dirtiest players I’ve seen in awhile in the Big Ten
  5. If it’s only a 2 week injury any chance we see him in the final window?
  6. He clearly has a competitive temper. I always defended it as a quirky competitive dude but I never imagined it would escalate to that. Clearly unacceptable Mike DeCourcy made a good point last night stating that Howard was still pressing/coaching with the game no longer in question, as is his prerogative. But, somehow, its not OK for Gard to do likewise? Just nonsense, Howard brought all on himself, there's no excuse. By the way, should Howard be suspended or relieved of his duties Michigan may actually benefit. I'm willing to bet Phil Martelli is step up when it comes to in game coaching. I disagree. I don’t understand where all the Howard sucks at coaching takes come from. Yes this year has been a disappointment but we’ve also seen a team that has improved as the season has gone on. There was a lot of praise for his offensive game plans against Purdue and Iowa and in general he has his teams running their plays flawlessly (opposing coaches have been quoted in praising their offensive execution). When they lose it’s almost always because his team can’t hit open 3s (and defense). On defense they are clearly a bad defensive team especially guarding ball screens. He’s recently started mixing zone defenses in and it’s been very effective overall. Has it been a good coaching year for him? No. But certainly doesn’t erase the work he’s done in the first 2 seasons. There were only 2 Beilein guys playing big roles on last years team. A majority of the key contributors including Franz and Hunter never played for him. The ones that did holdover had to learn a dramatically different offensive and defensive system. Sorry I’ll end this rant lol. I just keep seeing this and it seems like people are just looking for reasons to criticize him (which is now understandable). No doubt Martelli would be fine taking over but that’s not because JH sucks at coaching IMO. Could revisit in 2 years and think differently* *obviously this whole post is ignoring the undefendable actions of yesterday but since it was a basketball post I felt compelled to chime in
  7. Of course. They have to. He slapped an assistant coach in the head. I don't care what excuse he has, nothing can justify his actions. And I'm sure there will be some player suspensions too. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk Didn't him and Turgeon havea dust up last yr also? He clearly has a competitive temper. I always defended it as a quirky competitive dude but I never imagined it would escalate to that. Clearly unacceptable
  8. Yeah. It would be Moussa and Williams. Moussa sucked today but has emerged as a solid starter and plays off Hunter well. Williams is like a 7th or 8th man. He’s ok but Michigan won’t miss him too much. 95% of their production comes from the starters anyways. If Moussa misses the last 5 games Michigan is going 1-4 at best IMO
  9. Not anymore. I think if you ignored what happened today (which you can’t I know) Michigan is still in solid shape and think they are last 4 in. They have 1 badish loss, 3 Q1 wins and 4 of their last 5 games are at home against tourney teams. They have the number 6 SOS in the country and coming into today they were top 30 in kenpom and NET. the record sucks but is a result of having a very difficult non conference. They were in 85% of the brackets going into today so I don’t think a Q1 loss to a top 20 team is going to push them down too far If they go 3-2 they’re in. That said this is going to torpedo the season and I don’t even know if I care anymore. I’m just so embarrassed.
  10. What an embarrassment. I want him gone
  11. Saw a rumor that Gallup expects to be 100% by August. Could be coming from his camp to up his FA value, but if true that would definitely make him that much more desirable to the Bears (and other teams). The one thing I didn't like about Gallup was the chance of missing camp and the start of the season. Would love Fields to get an entire camp throwing to his main targets unlike last season. Wouldnt stop me from signing him but makes him slightly less appealing.
  12. The only thing cool thought I had about this playoff proposal (while still being largely stupid) is if they turn the team selection process into a live TV show and they interviewed the chosen team's manager directly after they are selected. Lets ramp up the animosity. Also who would actually be choosing the opponents? The GM? Manager? I can see fans ripping them to shreds if they pick their opponent and lose.
  13. Yeah, this is awful. Lots more watching the Cubs shoot for 82 wins and luck in the playoffs. I can imagine Tom thinking "hell yeah all I have to do is have Jed build an 82 win team and I still get playoff revenue!"
  14. I'm sure I'll get over it, but I have to say that having 7 teams per league make the playoffs geniunely makes me less of a baseball fan.
  15. AK just don’t give a crap about tampering
  16. Well I was wrong about the Bulls attractiveness in the buyout market and worse yet I continually used Thompson as a guy who would be a great fit but would not sign with the Bulls. Glad to be wrong. What does Thompson have left? In his prime he was a great rebounder and solid defensive player
  17. I really hope he agreed to scale back on national commitments when signing the extension. I like Boog but I don't like having a PBP guy that misses ~40 games a year. Did he miss that many? My recollection was that he pretty much only missed Sunday afternoon games. Maybe he took a whole weekend off once or twice. Maybe not. My perception was that there was almost always a backup in the booth but i guess that's also JD's frequent absences that played into it.

  19. People are speculating on twitter that customer feedback may have saved him. Don't know how true it is but it does seem like Cubs fans appreciate him a lot more than people at Marquee. Didn't JD miss a little bit of time with a health issue? I kind of wonder if that was worse than we were ever made aware of. That would explain a lot of the weirdness around him last year. One of his absences was definitely a health issue but he was in and out most of the year. Could have been a recurring health issue, but it really felt like most of last year they are auditioning JD's replacement whether it was because they didn't like him or because they were concerned his health wouldn't have allowed him to continue. Either way, re-upping for multiple years tells me that if it was an issue, its probably not anymore.
  20. Yeah I was very worried about losing JD. This is incredible news. People are speculating on twitter that customer feedback may have saved him. Don't know how true it is but it does seem like Cubs fans appreciate him a lot more than people at Marquee.
  21. This legitimately shocks me as Boog got a lot of criticism for his national TV commitments making him a partial announcer and JD's frequent disappearances made it seem like he was on the way out.
  22. I wonder if the 2020 season plays into the players cracking sooner than later. They lost a lot of money because of 2020 and unlike the owners their earning potential is limited to their at most ~15 year playing career. Of course they stand to gain money if the owners cave on certain isues but I'm sure there's a point where the losses outweigh the potential gains and that is probably what the owners are waiting for.
  23. Another Blackhawks thread? Oh nevermind...
