  1. Feel free to go back through my past comments I’m *mostly* clean. I had a reactionary moment after the MSU loss year but quickly recovered. Defended his tenure before and after that moment I was talking more in general than anyone here I know I just like to point out that irrationally negative UMFan managed to stay rational with Harbaugh

  3. Well that was fun
  4. Ted Phillips has a say for real?
  5. Amazingly Iowa might be getting the ball back with a chance to tie
  6. Not to look ahead too much but by far the most likely outcome if the US advances is finishing 2nd in the group and opening up the knockout rounds by playing the Netherlands at 9am CT on 12/3. To prevent that England would have to lose to Wales or Netherlands loses to Qatar (lol) or Draws Qatar but loses tiebreak or Ecuador/Senegal has a winner
  7. I have a feeling Illinois is going to somehow end up in Indy. Nebraska up 17-0 over Iowa. Purdue should beat Indiana but it’s a rivalry game and Indiana is coming off a win.
  8. Unless England starts to rout Wales. Then tactics could change, pending the score in our game. Other way around, right? England win by any amount doesn't effect US-Iran...? I think it just allows them to bunker down a bit and make sure they don’t lose
  9. One good thing is Iran can’t afford to play for a draw since any wales win would allow England and Wales to advance via GD.
  10. Not disappointed relative to expectations coming in but lamenting the opportunity to get a signature win and put ourselves in great position to advance. That said this is kind of what I thought going into the WC. US good enough to limit goals and create chances but lack finishers
  11. I don’t care what they said the other day, he has to be hurt right? Nevermind let’s gooo Gio

  13. This is the kind of match we all wanted to see from Pulisic
  14. Ahh so close
  15. Fun little thread of many of the sick throws Fields has made his first 2 years
  16. LMAO that would have been an epic blunder by Portugal at the end if he scored. Not sure I’ve ever seen someone hang out behind the goalie waiting for them to put the ball down and then stealing it.
  17. And now the Bulls win in Milwaukee. What a weird team
  18. Interesting take RE: Michigan. I definitely agree that Michigan fans are very pompous. More talking about the perspective of rivalry. I agree that OSU fans have this unhealthy hatred of everything Michigan but I haven’t met very many Michigan people that say they dislike MSU more. They do dislike MSU especially in basketball but they loathe OSU. I grew up in Michigan and am a MSU fan because of Michigans superiority complex. But I always had the feeling that MSU took the rivalry with Michigan way more serious than Michigan fans did. No doubt they were more interested in hating OSU Yeah I didn't grow up in Michigan so I didn't get involved in all of that. I just thought Michigan's helmets were cool as a kid and then Charles Woodson + Robert Traylor breaking a backboard cemented it.
  19. Closest team in your division...somewhat similar competitive levels. Where I live it is almost as close to Purdue as it is to Champaign and there is a fair amount of Purdue fans around. I think Purdue's style of "play" in the game this year against Illinois is going to create some resentment if it continues in the future In-state normally comes first. Purdue-Indiana, that's the rivalry. One thing I always found amusing when I was at OSU was how much they horsefeathering hate Michigan. I mean hate. Well, they hate everyone who isn't OSU, but the hate for Michigan is on another level. In Ann Arbor, they recognize OSU as their biggest challenge, but the stronger dislike is for MSU. However, similar to ND in Ann Arbor they generally consider themselves above everyone all the time about everything. Some not jokingly, compare UM to Harvard and MIT. They sell t-shirts that say; Harvard, Michigan of the East. I've never seen a worse college atmosphere than Columbus in terms of perspective on what college sports are. I live in Alabama and there are definitely some nutters at Auburn and in Tuscolusa, but it is nothing compared to Columbus. Interesting take RE: Michigan. 20. I don’t think he’ll end up playing. Fields with no ability to take hits and hastily altered throwing mechanics sounds like a disaster Also: Sunday is gonna be a horsefeathers show lol
  21. Feels like Canada is still coming out of this group but we’ll see. Golden opportunity to take control
  22. Rough to dominate like that and be down a goal. Not sure how I feel about Canada. Super fun to watch but I feel like Mexico probably thought in the 90s/00s with the US, they're here to disrupt the status quo in CONCACAF and I don't like it. Maybe I should just enjoy it and then start disliking them afterwards.
  23. https://twitter.com/johndietzdh/status/1595482572229836800 He also says that Fields is considered limited in practice today (though its only a walkthrough) and that Fields is not a candidate for IR
  24. Germany is so incredibly fucked. Japan gets to play this seemingly DOA Costa Rica team next while Germany play Spain. If Japan wins they need to beat Spain. A draw puts them in a situation where they would have to make up a -8 GD against Costa Rica and hope Spain loses. Even if they beat Spain, they’ll need to beat CR and hope Spain doesn’t beat Japan. They’re in a really bad spot. Edit: yes pretty much what bukie posted but I arrived at it independently
