  1. Outshot 42-29, win 6-3 The hockey gods are punishing this pathetic franchise Can’t wait until they draft 7th a couple times, get sick of losing and build a .500 club to get into the playoffs
  2. Not sure but the fact that they signed a RB seconds after Monty signed tells me they quickly executed their backup plan
  3. Apparently he’s a really strong pass blocker from what I’m reading? Im sure they’ll look for someone in the draft but they might be fine with Herbert and then Homer on some passing downs
  4. Uhhh Clearly going the draft route?
  5. Draft someone in the middle round that excels at pass blocking and the ability to catch passes and I think the Bears will be fine. I’m glad I kept Herbert on my fantasy roster as a potential keeper anticipating this.
  6. Bye Monty Miles Sanders, Austin Ekeler, draft?
  7. The account is subscribed to Twitter Blue, has an "MFL" logo, and already changed the tweet to say a deal hasn't been done. Step away from the keyboard for a while. chill dude, I'm just posting what I see and made it clear to take with a grain of salt.
  8. horsefeathers it, I opened up the can of worms, more twitter reporting https://twitter.com/_MLFootball/status/1635749389174964224 ML football has 50,000 followers and claims in their bio: "Independent NFL reporter approved by the NFL and NFLPA." which I realize anyone can just say and plus wtf does that mean? Obviously take with gigantic grain of salt and apologies in advance when this is way wrong.
  9. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2023/3/14/23639429/nfl-free-agency-scout-chicago-bears-1st-day-recap-insider-tremaine-edmunds-nate-davis-tj-edwards?utm_campaign=windycitygridiron&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter Some intel from Gabriel on some of the bigger names that the Bears were expected to go after yesterday but didn't land:
  10. Speaking of RBs, not a peep about Montgomery that I've seen. The Eagles signed Penny, which could just be running back depth, but could also mean that Miles Sanders will be elsewhere next year. A few names to watch...I don't think the Bears want Herbert to be a primary 3 down back heading into the season. Outside of those guys you are looking at names like Jamaal Williams (hmm...one of the best blocking backs, thrives in a timeshare, but a bit old), Mattison, Kareem Hunt, Fournette, D'Onta Foreman, Singletary, James Robinson, or the draft. Actually don't hate a Herbert/Jamaal Williams timeshare, though his 17 (!!!!) rushing TDs last year might make him overpriced even if his other metrics are only slightly above average. If the Bears value a back who is more of a receiving threat though, it may not work.
  11. I have decided that we're reached the "random internet rumor" portion of the offseason
  12. I wasn't going to say anything when I saw this thread but....yeah...
  13. Some ESPN (huge eyeroll) comments on some of the Bears signings: Don't see one on Walker, so its possible they don't see it as a relevant enough signing.
  14. I think it's crazy, but this FO never has seemed super enthused on him. Even when he was already clearly their best OL he was splitting snaps. And he has an injury history. Even if I thought they were fully over any other issue, that's maintained a question. He was getting nearly 100% of the snaps for a huge chunk of the season (92% or more in every game played between Week 5 and Week 13). I think the FO became sold on him as the season progressed. The injuries though are a concern, missing 4 of the last 8 games, and in 2 of the games he played he only played a few snaps.
  15. Haven't watched this video yet but this is quite the claim by YouTuber named The Football Scout:
  16. I was hoping it would prompt one of you people to do the math for me
  17. Bunch of people are saying stuff like this but no one is breaking it down for me and I’m not smart enough to figure it out myself
  18. Given what we're upgrading from, even a decent starter is a pretty substantial upgrade. Definitely. Just doesn’t help our need for impact players on defense. That said I’m not sure if FA was going to net us any impact players regardless
  19. Hasn’t even hit one in the All-Star game. Pretty lame Kyle
  20. The Bears will be fine, they finished *checks notes* last in the NFL in sacks last year.
  21. I was worried that was going to be your take. I would have said going into the off season that the Bears biggest holes were in the trenches, even more than WR. So far we haven't done a ton to change that. While they could focus heavily on this in the draft, I don't want the Bears to be in a position where they have to take OL and DL instead of BPA.
  22. I haven't heard much about Marcus Davenport as a name for the Bears at DE. I think he had a down year last year in terms of pass rushing (0.5 sacks in 15 games is something, but he had 9 the year before), but he's only 26 and graded decently on PFF. Is he someone the Bears should be going after?
