Why is he starting so often though. I believe he just started 2 nights ago. Guessing the day after night thing but horsefeathers if he's going to be the backup catcher he should start once every 5 games or so. If we need a backup catcher more DFA him and bring up Amaya.

Bet the Patriots grab him. I have no interest for the Bears unless he was willing to take a 1 year deal to help us get to the floor and even then if it affects our ability to sigh a pass rusher then nevermind. -
The least funniest thing would be for them to finish off the comeback, sweep the Nuggets giving Boston another title and their fans pointing out 2004 Red Sox parallels for the rest of time.

Ugh 2 extremely soft bloop hits and then a grounder through the right side lead to a run. Kyle is pitching really well this inning too imo just terrible luck edit and then another grounder through the right side for 2 more runs. Yikes That one was hit harder but still perfectly placed

Good bye Nick Madrigal. Would have been more fitting if he was sent down for Heuer but this works. Edit: Still getting used to navigating this side, I guess its being discussed elsewhere

Yeah unless he is terrible, I believe he has a club option for $16 mil next year which I would easily take for some stability. Seems like he's well liked and respected in the clubhouse too...if we sell this offseason I'd prefer it to be a sell off that doesn't hurt the 2024 team....if we're going into next year not prepared to contend that's a huge issue.

No idea what to expect from Kyle but won't put too much emphasis on his first MLB start in 10 months. Just happy to see him on the mound for the Cubs.

I believe Brock instructed us to create game threads in Cubs Discussions in order to draw a bigger audience. He moves them to Game Threads afterwards. kind of hard to measure whether it’s helped traffic during a 6-16 stretch -

Not sure when he’ll completely slow down, his body has started to break down a little from when he was nearly indestructible early on. He’s fallen to top 10 player status with the ability to look like the top guy on occasion. Either way he will play at least 2 more years so he can play with his son which is actually pretty cool as long as Bronny actually deserves to be in the NBA and is not being forced onto a roster to satisfy LeBron

Who here is claiming they wanted him to remain with the Cubs? Still makes us look bad if we cut a dude and he puts up a 3 win season immediately after. He's at 0.9 fWAR now btw. He also had a 0.9 fWAR with the Cubs last season in a similar number of games, but most of that value was defensive last year and this year its mostly offensive.

horsefeathering Newcastle. Playing at home against Leicester, they put up 23 shots, hit the post 4 times, had 83% possession and scored 0 goals. Net result is a 0-0 draw that clinches a top 4 finish for them. A Newcastle win would have made it so Everton was safe with a draw and no Leeds win by more than 2 goals but oh well...at least Everton controls their own destiny at home against a lower table Bournemouth.
