  1. I don’t either actually but at the same time I’d be a little excited if they picked him if that makes sense. I don’t want to take the chance but I’d be intrigued by getting possible the most talented player in the draft
  2. Seems like Jalen Carter may be available at 9. Or maybe I’m just pulling a goony
  3. Wonder if multiple teams are trying to trade up to get the last of the 4 QBs
  4. @hottakesexposed
  5. All in all 3-4 homestand stinks but given the competition I’ll allow it. 8-5 during a stretch where we played the Dodgers and Padres 10 times is nice
  6. Into the “Banks Buckets” fu Joe Morgan edit: but RIP
  7. wondering the same thing. didnt they just bring back last years team with a few additions
  8. Meh, I'm not really worried about results for Hendricks on his first rehab. Seems to be working on command of his pitches.
  9. I think you just ride it out. I'm at a wedding this week and one of the people at the wedding is a Braves fan, he said you just have to live with it. He'll hit like .050 for 2-3 weeks and then all the sudden is red hot. Reminds me of some of the slumps Soriano used to get into back in the day. Different hitters of course but Sori would be absolutely putrid for a long stretch and then all the sudden he hits like 7 HR in a 6 game stretch and almost every AB ends in a line drive somewhere.
  10. Dansby in an 0-18 slump. BA down to .267 for the season 😞
  11. I refuse to call the play-in round the playoffs. I'm glad AKME didn't either after the season. Could have easily tried to spin it as such.
  12. I get so confused about these new topics that pop up out of nowhere with weeks of posts. Guessing they're being split off mega threads? Looking forward to seeing how things play out.
  13. He's referring to a bet from several years ago with Sulley (Magnetic Curses). I can't remember which year it was though.
  14. How do you not call timeout to advance the ball in a tie game with 0.5 seconds left? And then Giannis didn’t even really attempt to shoot
  15. Annoying loss to clinch a losing homestand. Thankfully the schedule gets easier briefly before the real death march begins
  16. Not sure why this crap is coming out right before the draft but
  17. The who?
  18. Cubs win and I just found out I’m going to be in Washington for work on Monday while the Cubs are in town. That never happens when I travel.
  19. Since the lineup is posted, looks like Belli went on the paternity list. Congrats to him for a healthy baby girl. Hope Velasquez can stay hot in his absence
  20. I mean to be fair DJ Moore is a Day 1 starter and potential Pro Bowler and that’s already in the bag. So they do get some immediate help due to having 1 overall regardless of who is drafted and how they turn out.
  21. Agreed, this is a good idea. And yes the game thread list should loop when its gone through the list. We weren't going to have 70+ people signing up lol
  22. I think the Bulls lost the Jimmy Butler trade
  23. So Jets let the Packers pick 2 spots higher this year, give them a mid 2nd rounder this year and a potential 1st rounder next year? Seems like way too much for a dude who is turning 40 next season and just had the worst statistical season od his career.
  24. Just for fun....Cubs position player fWAR rankings on April 24 Nico Hoerner - 1.2 (9th) Cody Bellinger - 1.0 (20th) Patrick Wisdom - 1.0 (20th) Dansby Swanson - 0.8 (29th) Ian Happ - 0.7 (43rd) Trey Mancini is the only other Cub that qualifies but I didn't go far enough to see his ranking. His fWAR is -0.5. Pithcing: Drew Smyly - 0.6 (30th) Jameson Taillon - 0.5 (t-38th) Justin Steele - 0.5 (t-38th) Marcus Stroman - 0.5 (t-38th) Farther down the list - Hughes (0.2), Alzolay (0.2), Rucker (0.2), Keegan (0.1), Leiter (0.1), Fulmer (0.0), Wesneski (-0.1) and Boxberger last at (-0.2).
  25. I’ll preface this by saying that going 16-7 against any collection of MLB teams is legit impressive given the expectations for the Pirates this year, but the schedule has been pretty light CIN, BOS, CWS, HOU, STL, COL, CIN Houston and St Louis are the 2 legit teams they played and are 3-4 against them, 13-3 against everyone else.
