I know this is Jamaica's A team with Premier League attackers vs. the US B team but way too many bad turnovers and dangerous chances given up by US tonight. Not to mention the standard difficulty finishing I'd be thrilled to equalize and walk out of here with a draw at this point

Random question but I noticed there were quite a few people in the dugout and I can swear I saw Velazquez and Rios sitting there. Im guessing one of them was the 27th man today and the other is the 27th man tomorrow? Or did the Cubs just bring a large contingent to England? edit: oh maybe they just brought extra guys in case of injury

Some 2007 vibes with this team. Not in terms of the baseball played because they are very different but the offseason signings, bad start, mediocre division keeps us in the conversation and then they get hot and then turn the season around (hopefully)

It would be really fun if the Cubs and Reds continued to battle for the division the rest of the season. The Cubs and Reds have been in the same division since 1995 and I don’t believe we’ve ever battled with them for a playoff spot or division. Everytime we’ve been good they’ve been bad and vice versa. of course what I’d really prefer is the reds cool off and the cubs stay hot and win the division easily.

I agree that the return would not be anything worthwhile IMO. The fact is that Bellinger has been struggling since the start of May (.460 OPS since May 3).. Could definitely just be ebbs and flows of the season, as the sample size is just 17 games and 71 PA (plus he missed an entire month which probably explains somewhat his slow start since his return), but with his recent history of being a bad hitter, if he doesn't pick it back up again soon I don't think he's going to be perceived as a big pickup from a hitting perspective. Defensively of course he'll have value.

The one thing I'm confused at is does the .300 hitter have to qualify for the batting title at .300 to be considered a correct answer? I'd assume so, but then that reduces the possibilities to only players that pitched and then switched over to hitting full time or vice versa (like Ruth) or pitchers that were so good at hitting that they hit on their off days (which is pretty much just Ohtani). So I'm not sure!
