  1. I’m not really sure why they do it either. I’m pretty sure Boog still has national commitments which is why he occasionally misses games. I always assumed JD asked for a reduced schedule when he re-signed. They clearly like him enough since they just signed him to an extension last offseason.
  2. Oh well. I’m ok with being a full game ahead of the playoff pace for the first time all season
  3. Cubs will end the day 1 game clear of the playoff cut line, with the Reds, Marlins and Diamondbacks all 1 game back. As mentioned above, if the Braves can beat the Giants, the Cubs will pull into WC2 by 0.5 games as well. The Brewers have decided not to lose again so just keep that at 3 games for as long as possible.
  4. much more stressful series against the Royals than any of us were anticipating but they got the series win so ok then, lets move on.
  5. horsefeathers, he had 1 out, no one on and 2 strikes to Vasquez. Now the go ahead run is at the plate
  6. Braves tie up the Giants with 2 outs in the 8th. Come on, lets end the night alone in WC2
  7. Like I was saying in the other post these things come in cycles. We’ve seen the Cubs offense be a juggernaut for entire months now. Long enough that it clearly wasn’t a fluke, they have that capacity in them. They also have the capacity to struggle for weeks too. Hopefully in 10 days when we play Milwaukee we’ll be back on a nice run
  8. Nice job Merryweather. The end is in sight
  9. Playing terrible teams is masking the slump. But that’s probably a good thing. Teams are going to slump during the year, better it now against teams we can still beat and then have the offense humming again by the time we face the Brewers 🙂
  10. At this pitch count Lyles can probably go 2 more. He’s usually a 5-6 inning starter. Frustrating that we haven’t been able to make him work more.
  11. Brewers up 2-0 over the Rangers and have the bases loaded.
  12. I didn't watch that inning until the end but I see Kyle allowed a walk, double and 2 lineouts. Hopefully a blip and he can go 2 more
  13. Seiya out there trying to give me a heart attack
  14. Pitcher with a 1.30 WHIP has allowed 3 base runners in 4 innings blah. Some good defense though
  15. How many more seasons until the Royals start taking bidders for Witt?
  16. Great that we got 2 runs early, but Lyles is so bad his ERA has gone down .09 points so far today.
  17. And they get Penn State at home. I could be way off but I feel like Wisconsin is a year away from being really good. Illinois @ Iowa might be for a spot in Indy.
  18. Reds have gotten 2 back already and trail 5-2 Giants up 3-2 over the Braves. Brewers starting right now Phillies on SNB Marlins and Diamondbacks idle
  19. I see we pitched to Witt again and he made us pay. Hopefully this is like last start and Kyle settles in and pitches well.
  20. Marlins lose, Cubs will again end the night in a playoff spot
  21. Giants do lose, Cubs now just 1/2 game behind them for WC2 Diamondbacks on track to sweep the Padres today and be 1/2 game behind the Cubs Miami is losing 2-1 to LA If scores hold.... WC1 PHI +3.5 WC2 SF +0.5 WC3 CHC -- --------------- CIN -- MIA -0.5 ARI -0.5
