  1. Dansby with a runner on 3rd and 1 out, I'm sure he will get the run home Edit: shocker he struck out. Would have been cool if Seiya was hitting there
  2. Marlins lose. cubs cannot fall out of a playoff spot tonight but their chances of avoiding the Brewers will take a serious blow without a comeback
  3. Anatomy of a collapse: horrifically slumping offense loses a bunch of low scoring games then starts to get it together in time for the pitching to fail and start losing high scoring games. At least there was one magical game where the better offense and good pitching intersected
  4. Watch us lose by 1 because Bellis hit didn’t go out
  5. I guess that was a big spot since Dansby just struck out on 3 pitches
  6. Wish Seiya was up here instead of Dansby. I know he’ll get a chance too most likely but just a buzz kill
  7. All 162 games count equally. I understand what you are trying to say but the Pirates are literally the main reason we are anywhere near the playoffs. We're 69-71 against teams who aren't the Pirates. You aren't going to go 12-1 against a team in a given year. Steele is gassed and got shelled twice, the offense has hit a wall. If they lost a series to the Rockies in June (like when the Brewers got swept) it would be whatever, its just magnified because there are 10 games left. Steele is gassed and got shelled again, it sucks but it happens.
  8. Don't worry Mastrobuoni and Tachman will surely be able to get us some runs in a hurry.
  9. I mean they are currently 11-3 against those 2 teams and thats probably the main reason why they are a legitimate playoff team. Tonight they are facing maybe one of the best pitchers in baseball the last 4-5 weeks. Your ace can't give up 6 ER in 3 IP
  10. Steele's ERA for the season is now at 3.00 exactly
  11. Can't believe that tool was in David Ross's circle of trust. Might still be. Need to win the next 4 games
  12. Kind of wish Bellinger was hitting there instead of Happ
  13. And of course Mastrobuoni singles on a high fastball. Nice work internet
  14. Steele gets himself in big danger and then gets out of it
  15. Since Winning Time didn't work out, maybe Losing Time, a dramatic retelling of the Chicago Bears from 2013-2023, would work better.
  16. Imagine if you just woke up and this was the first thing you read today as a Bears fan.
  17. Also interesting the Bears threw out the Peterman/Bagent news in the middle of all of this. Obviously they aren't going to bench Fields anytime soon, but now Bagent is an injury away from getting his shot and now in position to be the guy if they do bench Fields later in the season.
  18. Will be interesting to see how the Brewers play that final series against the Cubs if we are still in the thick of it. They probably want to play Miami, but maybe not. If they want to play the Cubs, their ideal outcome is the Cubs needing to pitch Steele on Sunday to clinch a spot, thus ensuring he can't pitch in the WC series (at least as a normal starter)
  19. The whole thing started when someone I think is fairly connected on twitter, but not a mainstream reporter claimed that he heard something about the situation with Alan Williams that was shocking (or something like that, its posted somewhere in this thread). The CP stuff was all from twitter randos that have a big following but no credibility as a reporter. Eventually, enough people amplified it that it became a "thing". But there are still people like Biggs that are saying that they have heard there's more going on than a health issue.
  20. Because it sounds like the Bears are going with the health and family angle but Biggs said that reporters have been operating under the assumption that its not a health and family issue for the last few days
