  1. 6 days ago this dude gave up 9 baserunners and 4 runs in 2.2 IP. Today so far 1 baserunner and 0 runs in 2 IP. maybe he’s well rested from being pulled early last time out
  2. …sure but there were other options out there. Perhaps guys like Wesneski or Wicks are not ideal to throw into a playoff race but either is a guy with an ERA over 10 the last 3 months
  3. Way to be bold and stick with the pitcher with an ERA over 10.00 for the last 3 months Rossy
  4. Assuming he pitches more than 1 inning, this will be the 7th multi-inning appearance in a row that Smyly gives up a HR in his first inning of work. Cubs down 1-0
  5. Sunday's starter Jordan Lyles had a 7.22 ERA in his previous 5 starts, allowing opponents to have a .987 OPS against him in those starts. It looks like they must have made a scoring change because they were originally saying he allowed 2 ER in 8 innings but now its 4 ER. But either way, he allowed 6 base runners in 8 innings. Last nights starter Alex Faedo had a 6.08 ERA in his previous 5 starts and held the Cubs to 2 ER and 5 total base runners in 6 innings. Unlike Lyles though who was getting hit hard in all 5 of those starts, Faedo's starts were alternated between solid and terrible.
  6. That's an all-timer wow
  7. Yeah I agree. Even if the White Sox had 25% of the Chicago market they'd still have more available fans here than they would in the entire Nashville metro area. In reality, the number is probably closer to 40-45%.
  8. And Pham walks it off for the Diamondbacks Who score 3 to win 4-3. Cubs remain 1 game ahead of the playoff cut line instead of 1.5 games
  9. Dammit the rangers picked a really annoying time to have their biggest slump of the season edit: not so fast, rangers up 3-1 in 11th
  10. Rangers were 2 outs from victory over the Diamondbacks but Chapman gave up a dong to tie it
  11. Yes I know I'm a famous overreactor but this doesnt bother me that much. We're sort of slumping/playing bad but still managing to take advantage of a weak schedule. It would piss me the hell off if we were losing these games but we're not. We know this team can play better. The pitching worries me a little but we're not supposed to be the Braves this year either.
  12. It would have been the perfect story too lol. Power hitting prospect wins the game with a walkoff HR in his MLB debut
  13. Kind of playing like crap right now but still getting W's
  14. I think the Tigers are a decent amount better than the Royals. But their offense definitely isn't as good
  15. I know that was a very very tough play but damn I expect Dansby to make those
  16. Dammit, that was very un-nico like to have an unproductive out in a situation like that
  17. Honestly I think its more of out of the 4 relievers we trust, Cubs fans probably only trust 2 of them (Alzolay and Leiter) Maybe 3
  18. Hell yeah Madrigal! Accidental doubles are the best
  19. It took most Cubs fans like 3 months of good pitching to start to trust fulmer again and now I think it will take 3 more months
