  1. Is it blocked off, or can I run over there and steal a brick?? :) Might be a nice prize to donate for the next Predictions contest
  2. Knowing the Cubs, the very next news on the Marquee would say "Cubs sign Dusty for two more years!"
  3. If it was a Dusty managed team, there would be a choice for "It was over 90 degrees out, and those light skinned players couldn't take the heat in a meaningless game"
  4. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/uploads/post-2909-1128376354.jpg Comments? Classy move by the Cubs.
  5. OK, I've had to think long and hard about this. It came down to "Down on the Farm", "Flash Back", "Sosa Appreciation" and "Aramis" Eliminated Down on the Farm because I figured there are members here that would like that prize a lot more then I. Eliminated Sosa Appreciation when I realized that I don't really like Sosa anymore, I still need more time to heal. Eliminated Flashback only because I chose the Aramis package, simply because winning a jersey is pretty damn cool, even if I doubt it will fit me (I'm 6'3''). So I'm choosing Aramis, and if it doesn't fit me, I'll give it away as an X-Mas gift. Thanks for this cool contest.
  6. I'm at work right now, I'll be home in 30 minutes to pick my prize. I think I know what I want though
  7. I can't believe I won something....I remember thinking that I was being pessimistic when I made my predictions, but it turns out I was being very optimistic. Wow, thanks for making this happen, and to the people ahead of me, hurry up and choose so I can make my choice! :)
  8. Red Sox in 5 Angels in 5 Cards in 4 Braves in 5 Angels in 6 Cards in 5 Angels in 6
  9. I don't think the OBP will regress with Giles. The only thing I'd be worried about is signing him for too long. This is his big contract, I'd say he'd be looking for about 4 years if not longer. Regardless I think this is a much better buy then Damon. In fact if there is one free agent thats worth getting that could change the team, its Giles IMO
  10. I love the ending to our season. Not only was this season a disaster, but we got to watch both the Cardinals and Astros celebrate clinching playoff bearths at our expense
  11. Todd Walker on deck ....Aramis in the hole??? (I can dream can't i?)
  12. Let's see this in the 9th Murton Walker Aramis :) Cedeno comes in to PR if any get on
  13. Actually I like this....this will help me miss the Cubs a lot less with a fresh slap in the face before the offseason.
  14. They explained before the game that its because he has a sore ________ i forgot where exactly he was sore
  15. Dammit, I'm not supposed to get worked up over the Cubs on the last day of the season. This is not cool. It totally figures that baseball had the potential to have two one game tie breakers, and neither will probably occur, and in both cases the team I'd rather see in there will fall short
  16. Obviously, the Cubs sensing their fans desire for a Phillies WC entry will give their fans one last kick in the balls to close out the year and lose tomorrow. Most likely it will be a cruel loss too. In fact, in a way it would be fitting. No Bears tomorrow, so you know I'll be watching.
  17. I'll be living in the area durin the winter, if I'm reminded I'll take pictures though the winter, but they might be crappy cell phone pictures until I get my camera fixed
  18. This was a thread bumped from 2003 right?
  19. I like the fact that we are playing 4 at Petco this year again. We are 6-1 there all time :):)
  20. Yup, that was him. The first time I saw his name this year, I had no idea why I remembered it, then I looked it up and smiled.
  21. The juniper bushes went in in 1996 (maybe 97). And there's a major difference between putting green bushes (has the same vibe as ivy) in center, rather than showing just empty bleachers. To go from bushes to a giant green glass (similar to that ugly thing in center in cinci) is major. It'll take a lot to get used to it. I'm amazed more people aren't annoyed by it I personally disagree. Despite the way people think about the Trib Co. I think they will be very delicate about this for fear of ruining the vibe of Wrigley. If it loses its aura, they might actually have to worry about building a winning ballclub. The bushes have been there for 9 years if your correct, thats hardly something I'd consider that would ruin the mystique of Wrigley. Yes it was better then what was there, but I think the restaurant will be tasteful. The thing that still bothers me is the bleachers, the view and the fact that you will no longer be able to stand at the top of the bleachers and watch the game.
  22. You'll get used to it just like you got used to when the junipers were put in in the 80's. The view of the Wrigley neighborhood being blocked bothers me a bit though
  23. I've never wanted a season to be over as much as I want this one to be. The farther we are away from this mess, the closer we are to another chance next season.
  24. You guys shouldn't let threads like this bother you. It's mearly envious shots at your ballclub. You have a postseason to worry about
  25. Does he mention Christian Guzman? Didn't think so.
