  1. And now Wesneski. I’ll be the guy that complains about not using the long shot reliever who wasn’t signed to a contract 3 months ago
  2. So the whole Green thing was a diversion to let Ross sneak in another Drew Smyly start. Ross really loves his guys
  3. Yep. I do get making De La Cruz bat righty but it’s a strange move in the 1st inning even as an opener
  4. Not sure but not including today he has a .158/.244/.250/.494 batting line with a 30% k rate in his last 21 games
  5. The Cubs somehow do not score despite making him throw 37 pitches and walking 3
  6. The Cubs are now 46-26 since their low water mark of 26-36. 46-26 translates to 104-58 over 162 games. So they've been playing at a 104 win pace for 44% of the season now.
  7. Also apparently the Reds are having a COVID outbreak right now so hope that doesn't make it into the Cubs locker room Hunter Greene was already on the COVID IL, just announced that Fernando Cruz and Ben Lively have it
  8. Reds announce Lyon Richardson as their game 2 starter. He has an 8.59 ERA in 2 starts for Cincinnati this year and pitched 7.1 innings in those 2 starts. He started the season in low A, was promoted to AA where he raked (2.15 ERA in 15 starts, though only ~3 innings per start). Had 3 OK outings in AAA (3.60 ERA in 10 innings) and is now up in the majors.
  9. I know its like "how do you want to die" but I think I'd rather play the Dodgers. I like our hitters matchups against their pitchers more and their offense is not quite as deep as the Braves. Heavy underdogs against either of course, but I think we'd have better odds of pulling off an upset against LA.
  10. Fangraphs now has the Cubs playoff odds at just under 90% (89.8%) based on season to date numbers. 80.4% using their projections.
  11. Obviously we root for the Phillies tonight but really either outcome is going to be fine. With a win tonight we will either be 1.5 games behind the Phillies for WC1 or 1.5 games behind the Brewers for the Central
  12. Still think he'll be an all-star caliber player but the hype machine went crazy a little too soon. The league has clearly adjusted to him.
  13. 10 games over .500 for the 8th time in 9 seasons. 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 2023
  14. Come on Keegan. I'm ok with challenging the hitters in this spot but he's leaving too much over the plate
  15. Not officially.....neither starter has been announced yet. But he's almost certainly going to pitch in the game for 3 innings I would think.
  16. Dansby is looking a little better at the plate lately. Hopefully signs he's coming out of his funk
  17. Dammit, 1 inch from the inning being over, now he's getting wild
  18. Your other options are Smyly and Wesneski, assuming Ross wants to hold back Leiter
