  1. I wouldn't count on winning one of those - not saying they can't or won't - just that losing both is a possibility. They better win the Purdue game because Michigan will be tough. Agreed. Purdue has been playing better since IU saw them last. And that will be tough on their senior (do they have any?) day. But that's a must win. Can't afford another bad loss. I'm actually not too stressed about the Michigan game. Davis owns Amaker. So did Weber and Izzo
  2. Thats a good point. There are two parts to this organization. The Cubs and the Cubbies. UD Reserved - Cubs Bleachers - Cubbies Signing the 7th inning stretch - Cubs Celebs singing the 7th inning stretch and random celebs interviews durin the bottom of the 7th when no one cares - Cubbies Believing the team can win the World Series - Cubs Wearing a believe wristband because its trendy and not because the proceeds goto charity - Cubbies Knowing the team went 6-3 on their last road trip - Cubs Saying 'hey remember that game when Sammy hit a HR while I got that chicks number" - Cubbies I could go on and on. Sorry to deviate from the topic of this thread
  3. If they are attempting to wean Santo into replacing Harry fulltime with the 7th inning stretch I'm all for it. Celebs singing was cool for a bit, but its become a mockery of itself, and the bottom of the 7th inning in a close game is hardly the time to interview (insert B-list celeb) on his/her new movie.
  4. You can still find a decent deal of bleacher tickets for weekday day games
  5. I'm just going to only watch the first 45 minutes of each game. The last 3 usually suck
  6. Wow it seems like the NLC blows away the East and West
  7. There seems to be no virtual waiting room at the moment. I was able to go in and attempt to get tickets at any time
  8. The game against the Braves? I was there too. Such a bitter day. The only good thing was the Stoney chant during the 7th inning.
  9. I got NOTHING. Looks like if I wanna go to Wrigley, I'll be ebaying it or going through a freakin broker. a) Not all tickets will be sold out tonight (I was able to buy bleacher seats for a value date 3-4 days after tickets went on sale last year b) The Cubs usually release more tickets before every homestand c) Buying through a broker doesn't necessarily mean paying over face value if you play your cards right
  10. Sold out games now include (My guesses to why in parenthesis): Cubs vs. Cardinals 4/7/2006 (Opening day) Cubs vs. Cardinals 4/8/2006 (Opening series) Cubs vs. Braves 5/27/2006 (Mother's Day?) Cubs vs Tigers 6/17/2006 (Interleague Saturday) Cubs vs. White Sox 6/30/2006 (stupid White Sox) Cubs vs. White Sox 7/1/2006 (stupid White Sox) Cubs vs. White Sox 7/2/2006 (stupid White Sox) Cubs vs. Mets 7/15/2006 (Saturday against the ol NL East rivals) Cubs vs. Cardinals 7/28/2006 (Weekend Cardinals) Cubs vs. Cardinals 7/29/2006 (Weekend Cardinals) Cubs vs. Cardinals 7/30/2006 (Weekend Cardinals) Cubs vs. Cardinals 8/19/2006 (Weekend Cardinals) Cubs vs. Cardinals 8/20/2006 (Weekend Cardinals)
  11. Mystery Science Theater 3000
  12. Thanks to the great Sethuel, I was able to use his VWR prowless to score 6 bleachers on Opening Day! (And yes I will be bringing a blanket)
  13. Well the out of state line is busy, the in state line is busy, and I have 25 VWR windows up. It's go time!
  14. What is the purpose of going into the VWR now? (15 minutes before they go on sale). Also, I am thinking of checking out the out of state number (since my ID and my credit card are from out of state.) Anyway you think they verify that I live here?
  15. Alrighty, anyone want to clue me into the ins and outs of the VWR? Never done it before
  16. I think 11,150 is the winner for the WGN contest, but 11,152 is the winner. They couldnt draw a number that wasn't called
  17. 11546? Whoops its 6AM my math is off :)
  18. So any of you lucky guys want to pick up a couple of opening day tickets for me? I'd be willing to come to Wrigley to drop off $ :)
  19. I suck, I had 5 friends draw wristbands, all between number 4000-8000. I don't think we are getting anything good BTW, sethuel1 was 6 OFF meaning hes the 6th to last person to get tickets :(
  20. Here we go.......the number is 11152
  21. They are running late so it hasn't been announced yet. Should be any minute
  22. For the record, Miller Park is so bland and boring. It just doesn't have much discernable character. It's Anypark, USA basically. What makes it more annoying is their sound system (at least from where I was sitting) was extremely loud, and their song choices were pretty stupid too. Pretty much whenever there was any stop in action (catcher walking to the mound for example), they played some weird trance music that got old really quick.
  23. was that post deleted?
  24. I can only fairly judge the stadiums I've been to. Hate to be cliche but my favorite 2 are the usuals.... 1. Wrigley Field 2. Fenway Park 3. Camden Yards 4. Bank One Ballpark (tie) 4. U.S. Cellular Field (tie) 6. Miller Park Among former parks I've visited... 1. Comiskey Park 2. Qualcomm/Jack Murphy Stadium 3. Memorial Stadium (Baltimore) 4. Milwaukee County Stadium 5. Olympic Stadium And among parks I've only driven past the exterior of... 1. Jacobs Field 2. Turner Field 3. Busch Stadium 4. Fulton County Stadium 5. Shea Stadium
  25. I've never known anyone to be in the first 400. How long did it take for you to actually buy tickets? Do you remember what time they processed your order? I was 575 away last year and I got in there at about 10:45ish. When I got to the counter, the Saturday Red Sox game had only singles left, but the rest had pairs. Bleachers were somewhat sparce for the big games as well. Honestly, this year I don't think nearly as many people are getting wristbands. Last year it was about 30 degrees when I went out at noon on the first day to get my wristband, and the line was all the way around the park. This year all reports I've gotten are waits of less then 10 minutes. I think since they distribute wristbands 00001-20000 randomly, I think if you are 4,000-5,000 away, you might have a shot at good tickets because not all the numbers inbetween will be taken. Its just my theory, but if you live in the area, as many know Cubs.com updates the number currently being called in the lottery, so you can sit home and wait until the right time to go down there.
