    I'm almost glad that very few Cubs games are being televised/broadcast on radio. Talk about overcoverage of the White Sox, pretty much every game has been on TV and the radio. I'm sure even their fans are sick of it.

    The Cardinals lost talent, but unfortunately they've proved that their current administration simply runs a better ballclub then the Cubs more often then not. That is why the Cardinals get the benefit of doubt for their moves, and the Cubs have to prove it if they want respect from the media.

    Good post, Pierre will make the team better, and most likely Murton will be better then Holla and co. in LF. But overall I still don't like the team that has been assembled. I sure hope I'm wrong though!

    what's the alternative? woo kirk reuter out of retirement? regardless of whether a team is contending, i'd rather throw a guy out there who has the potential of being good than throw someone out there who you just hope doesn't suck to his fullest sucking potential. i'd be happy w/ either hill or marshall. Agreed, what I meant was contending teams should not be in this position in the first place. Maybe the Cubs will learn after a 4th consecutive year of Prior and Wood injuries.

    Zach Duke worked for the Pirates because they are perpetually not contending and can afford to throw pitchers on the fire and see if they pan out. In the majority of instances, contending teams should not be in the business of having AA pitchers starting the season in the 5th starters role. Yet here we are. That said, given the situation we are in, I am all for Marshall starting the season in the 5th spot.

    I'll always remember that 16 inning game against Milwaukee Welley. I'll also remember sitting in the bleachers on several occasions with many other disgruntled fans counting the number of consecutive balls you threw. I hope you finally put it together, but as far as not being a Cub anymore, good riddance.

    Thats operations management right there. It usually costs more to rush a project, so I'm assuming thats why some projects take forever to complete.

    There was a time last year when I thought Lee and ARam were challenging Manny and Ortiz for the most powerful 3-4 in baseball. We'll just have to see if Lee declines much and ARam can stay healthy. As for the rest of the lineup, I don't think we did much trying to get guys who can get on base more. At times the offense will be anemic, but at times will look powerful. Sound familiar?

    It costs too much money for them to broadcast games, nevermind that they annually have the highest spring training attendance numbers, they lowered payroll in the offseason, expanded their bleachers and raised ticket prices.
