  1. 3-0 Penn State at the half
  2. Stealing Vance's template, my inagural picks Washington (-4) at Houston. Washington's offense is terrible, but they should have enough to cover the spread here. Washington NY Jets (+5.5) at Buffalo. I think Buffalo is improved, their looked fairly impressive, but Loseman is a bad QB, and trust me as a Bears fan, I know bad QBs. NY Jets Jacksonville (+7) at Indianapolis. I'm extremely impressed with the Jags D. In fact, I was just as impressed with how they played vs. Dallas as they did with Pittsburgh. Indy is not the same team without Edge, and this game will prove it against a great D. Jags Green Bay (+7) at Detroit. This game is going to be something like 20-16, Brett Favre will throw a few INTs, the Lions offense will make a few dumb mistakes/fumbles. Kevin Jones won't be good as usual. I'll go with the Lions Cincinnat (+2) at Pittsburgh. Interesting line. Hard to pick against the Steelers at home, but I think the Bengals match up well with the Steelers and so far in 2006 look like the better team. Bengals Tennesee (+10.5) at Miami. This game feels like a trap. Miami's offense hasn't played well enough to deserve a 10.5 point spread in the opponents favor. I'll take the Titans Chicago (-3) at Minnesota. It will be closer then the first 2 Bears games. I think all the hype about Grossman will not affect the game plan of the Vikings who will run a defense set to make Grossman earn his passing yards. RBs will be the key here. Bears Carolina (-3) at Tampa Bay. ugh, Tampa Bay looks terrible. I gotta go with Carolina here with Steve Smith likely back. Panthers Baltimore (-6.5) at Cleveland. Baltimore has looked impressive, but their offense is still average at best. I am going to predict a bit of a letdown by the defense and Cleveland will beat the spread. Browns NY Giants (+3.5) at Seattle. Seattle will breakout this game setting up a great SNF game next week against the Bears. The Giants defense is nothing special, and Eli is due for a letdown after last week. Seattle Philadelphia (-6) over San Francisco. San Francisco has been frisky so far this year, and I like their odds of beating the spread against Philly. I'll go out on a limb and take the Niners St. Louis (+4.5) at Arizona. St. Louis disaointed me a bit after playing great against Denver in week 1. Their defense is improved, but Bulger won't be able to keep up with Warner and company. I'll make a bit of a stretch and pick the Cardinals Denver (+7) at New England. Denver is getting 7 points to the team that they beat in the playoffs last year? The Pats are a bit better, the Broncos a bit worse and the Pats are at home. That makes for a close game. I'll take Denver Atlanta (-3.5) at New Orleans. Let me just say that I am extremely happy that NO is hosting a football game and that the recovery effort is going good. That said, I feel that if I pick against NO, I will be deemed less of American (judging by the large number of experts picking the sentimental favorite). Well I don't care, I am picking Atlanta.
  3. Where the heck did Joe Pa go??
  4. Darn, I am so disapointed. This might hurt our chances in the final 8 games.
  5. Check out the stickied 2007 schedule thread above. We end in Cinci too...
  6. Carr was pissed that Wisconsin was burning timeouts in a game that was already decided. I think it was a pretty bush move however
  7. Reporter: What was with that 3 down at the end (something like that) Lloyd Carr: ....well it was third down wasn't it? Reporter: Going for the score? Lloyd Carr: yeah It sounded funnier then I typed it
  8. They are at home, isn't it every Big 10 referee's job to ensure that the home team gets a majority of the calls? Or does that only happen in basketball?
  9. I agree. All that matters is what happens between noon and 3:15 PM tomorrow. I haven't been this confident about a sports team in a long time, so for me I would be pretty disapointed if we lost. Yes I know teams don't go undefeated, and this Bears team will take its share, but I don't see it happening tomorrow with division control at stake. Too much motivation to win.
  10. Sweet, I guess I motivated them. Manningham might win a Heisman before his days at Michigan are over.
  11. I knew this Wisky game was a trap game....this just proves that there is 0% chance that Michigan makes it to Columbus undefeated.
  12. I for one didn't say that. I never truely believed in the dominance of the Bears last year. If they did go to the Super Bowl, it was based on a weak NFC.
  13. See this is starting to bug me....everyone is trying to psyche me out on this game saying how great the Vikings are and how great a home field advantage the Metradome is..... I just don't by either. The Vikings have played one bad team and one decent team without its superstar and barely won both times. The Bears have demolished their opponent both weeks (albeit bad opponents). I am not predicting a blowout, just a good solid convincing win. How about 20-10?
  14. Wait is the game really over or are you guys being premature?
  15. You have the Reds wrong. According to their schedule, they are at Wrigley Sept 17, 18 and 19th (which you dont have)you have them in Cincy on Aug 27-29 which is not on their schedule. (see http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/schedule/tentative.jsp?c_id=cin&year=2007) Kasey My bad, I got the Month wrong on one of them, and completely missed the other. Thanks for the heads up
  16. Updated with the Reds schedule. Looks like we'll be opening and closing the 2007 at GAB (save a miraculous playoff appearence that is)
  17. What are we talking about in dollar figures? $3 million in buyout + lets say 2 year, 8 million plus incentives means we are paying Wood a base $7 million this year to be a relief pitcher (with probably a hidden adjenda to move him back to a starter again) and at least $4 million next year. Seems way too much to me. Must we pay big time to watch a pitcher rehab yet again? Thanks for the memories Kerry, I really enjoyed the 98 and 03 seasons, here is $3 million have fun at Ameriquest Field (stay away from Minute Maid!!!)
  18. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2597721 The Twins and A's are both going to the playoffs this year. Try another lame excuse. I think he's referring to the two 120+ million juggernauts in his own division. They spend far more then any team in the AL Central and West. The White Sox are the next closest I think and their payroll is like 30 million less then the Red Sox That's fine, but either the Twins or Tigers are going to the playoffs with a modest payroll - as the wild card, which is something Angelos' team could win without having to beat both the Yankees and the Red Sox. Should have found some way to get that Tejada + for Prior trade
  19. Remember when this season started we were ecstatic to see Bruce posting the lineups so we could break it down for 3 pages. It must be rough to cover these last 9 names when absolutely nobody is thinking about the Cubs right now. Edit: Nice! Soto with another start, Jock sitting this one out
  20. Its a shame how far my hockey knowledge has dropped. 10 years ago I could have named your players, what lines they were on, etc for about 20 teams. Now I think I can name more players on NHL 95 then I can actually playing right now. Don't get me wrong, I love hockey, its a fantastic sport to watch and follow, but for some reason when the Blackhawks died, my following of the NHL died with it. Doesn't work that way with baseball for me.
  21. Yep. Him and his wife both have. I sent him a message asking them to both keep picking against the Bears. The funny thing is that the Bears were his sleeper team every week last year. Now they are overrated or something.
  22. Simmons picks against the Bears (ATS, even though its only 3 points). I believe hes picked against the Bears (again, ATS) all 3 weeks too.
  23. This is in minor league forum but I guess it's important to post in here too.
  24. I bet we'll get blamed for it.
