  1. I was just thinking yesterday about the Buffalo Bills went from a perennial SB contender in the early 90s, then went through 25 year period where they were basically the laughing stock of football, worse than us even. Their fans were probably wondering when it would ever end and felt like the organization was broken, etc. But they've managed to put it together and now are one of the best teams in the AFC. Sure largely aided by getting Josh Allen, but they actually managed to develop him unlike every Bears QB in team history. They hoped for things to get better and it did. We hope for things to get better and then hire Matt Eberflus.
  2. Here it comes, I’m going to watch it even though I know it will make me miserable
  3. It's not the route I would take, but there's 2 outs. I don't think its crazy to not hold the runner and give the 1B a better chance to make that final out. But I'm sure someone in here will make an argument for otherwise. Basically I think its the wrong move, but the announcers didn't need to be ridiculously animated in their disapproval.
  4. He complained about the fans booing last year too. I mean I get it, I'm sure they are trying hard (well, most of them *coughChaseClaypoolcough*) but they haven't had to root for this team for 30 years, to get our brains beat in by our rivals during that whole time. There are some frustrations with the current team but a lot of the anger and booing is built up from the 30 years of sucking and waiting for the tables to finally turn in the rivalry. Not fair to them but they should understand where it's coming from.
  5. Really? Why haven't you shared this perspective with us before? 😄
  6. I just hate when in the moment you are thinking "this is a terrible idea, why are you doing this?" and then it backfires as you expected. Of course when the move works the complaints stop immediately. At the end of the day though David Ross knows 1000x more about baseball than me and also has access to a lot more data than I do and its his job to study it. Its possible he's misevaluating Cuas, but more likely there's a reason he left him in while laboring and allowing the previous 3 batters to reach and didn't bring in someone else.
  7. Definitely feels very Friedman. The Mets will find some way to horsefeathers it up though
  8. If you still want to believe the Bears can turn it around and try not to overreact to week 1 then the Bears must win this game. They're not going to beat the Chiefs in KC. So win this game or we start talking draft positioning, if we aren't already.
  9. I was talking with a friend who is a Jets fan before the game and was telling him that it would be so Jets if Rodgers came out, threw 4 INTs and the Jets got dominated. Then I realized no, that would be so Bears. Then Rodgers got hurt and I thought "ok now THAT is so Jets"
  10. The next great Japanese import is likely coming this offseason, and looks like Jed Hoyer is interested. Cubs had scouts at his last start (which was a no hitter), and now Jed Hoyer himself is flying to Japan for his next start. Figured Jed taking a trip to Japan made it worth starting a thread to discuss Yamamoto.
  11. For whatever reason Jersey has created the game threads the last 2-3 seasons. We usually just wait for him. Nothing from preventing you from creating one
  12. Not only IP limit but I believe he’s exceeded his ML pitch count limit in his last 2 starts
  13. JT O'Sullivan hasnt released his breakdown yet but, doesn't sound promising
  14. Im confused. An Achilles is not an ACL Anyways legitimately impressive for the Jets to win that game after a devastating loss during the first drive of the season, against one of the best teams in the AFC with Zach Wilson as their QB
  15. David Ross increasing his trade value so they can pick up his option and trade him to avoid the buyout.
  16. Cubs now 3.5 game playoff cushion, 0.5 games behind their peak of 4 GA. Guardians tied up giants so looking at something Iike Phillies 1.5 GA Cubs — DBags 2 GB ———- Marlins 3.5 GB Giants either 3.5 GB or 4 GB Reds 4 GB
  17. That LF is in on the tank. reminds me of Towles in the NLCS
  18. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Boxberger pass-out at 31 Flavors last night.
  19. I JUST said to ignore all my posts. That absolves me of everything. i don’t even care, I’m literally not the same person in the middle of these moments, I can’t be held responsible for my actions but good on you for figuring out multi-quote on the new board. Wish I could figure that out
  20. Please ignore literally every post I made over the last 45 minutes
  21. My god. I have no idea how we won that horsefeathers game
  22. Let’s note that Sutcliffe likes the sweeper that ends up 2 feet outside the strike zone edit: ok maybe he was right
  23. Please god get 1 more out ps Ross should be bringing in Leiter now
  24. There’s no way the Cubs get out of the 9th with the lead
