  1. No one wants to go down 1-10 to Tucson two days in a row..
  2. I'd be in favor depending on the cost CL - Wood SU - Howry SU - Marmol MR - Marte MR - Eyre MR - Wuertz LR - Hart That is one nasty bullpen
  3. Cubs lost. Jon Lieber is on the bump tonight
  4. Tony Thomas, the Cubs 3rd rounder last year out of Florida State. He was called up from the minor league squad for the SS correct?
  5. That's overreacting? Les Walrond, save 4-5 starts in 2006 is a career minor leaguer. I'll give you the former comment, barely. Overreactions are much much much worse in the regular season, as you know of course.
  6. I believe Marmol was the one that let 2 inherited runners score as well.
  7. Must've been Hart. It was...an unfortunate turn of events.
  8. I think both games are on MLB Gameday Audio. No TV. Game is going on right now... 0-0 in the 7th
  9. I love how Redsox.com spun this:
  10. But I'm pretty sure the networks might want a refund if the games aren't played. Networks? What could they be paying for games that will air at 3am? Red Sox fans alone will get them decent enough ratings. Then you add in the Bay Area and interested baseball fans across the country. That alone will get you better ratings than the average Friday evening NBA game. Then you include the Japanese market, especially excited for a Dice-K start in his homeland, and there is of course a lot of money on the line.
  11. It might help the Rays quest to win the AL East if the Red Sox start 0-2
  12. Yes we should. Probably not this year but eventually. I think they have high hopes for him. As for the Brewers, you're damn right we should be worried. I actually think they are the slight favorites if both teams stay the way they are.
  13. That kinda sucks. Honestly, I kinda wanted him to make it.
  14. I think you overpaid for saves on your team. Looks pretty decent to me though.
  15. Except for I didn't enter last year after winning in 2006. So look out for me!
  16. According to Sullivan, today's lineup is what Lou expects to be the Opening Day lineup if no trades are made: So to spell that out Theriot, SS Soriano, LF Lee, 1B Ramirez, 3B Fukudome, RF DeRosa, 2B Soto, C Pie, CF Pitcher (today: Marquis), P I almost more hope they make a trade so that they don't waste Fukudome in the 5 hole.
  17. Man interleague play starts earlier every year...
  18. Argh, I didn't have Internet access when I was in Arizona. Sorry...next year for sure. Where were you? I was in the grandstands down the LF line. I figured, I didn't even remember that you were going to be there until I started the game thread. I was on the lawn - RF side by the pens. The game went so fast and it was so cool out I didn't bother to walk around much.
  19. Willits or Figgins? It's gotta be Willits. SH player who can fill in at a bunch of positions, including CF, and is rumored to be sent down to the minors by the Angels. In fact, a Marquis for Willits trade seems so logical, considering the Angels pitching woes (Lackey and Escobar both injured). Angels fans would probably want a prospect thrown in as well.
  20. I wasn't even considering this option. Maybe this is why there is such a holdup in the BRob trade...why accept Cedeno as part of your haul when he might be on waivers available to you in 2 weeks?
  21. but will be blocked by Corey Patterson If/when Bruce is sent back to AAA it will have nothing to do with Corey Patterson and everything to do with his .557 spring training OPS. Bruce came into spring training with a chance to win a job, and he didn't win it. I have very little problem with Patterson opening the year in CF either. He is a good defender, great speed, has some pop in his bat, and it's almost a lock GABP will inflate his numers like it does everyone else. The problem is he belongs hitting 7th or 8th, not 1st where he will likely be. Some pop? Tell that to his .386 SLG last year. Corey Patterson is an awful baseball player who should only be on a major league team if he was a late inning defensive replacement/pinch runner. Unfortunately (or fortunately) he will leadoff and start in CF for the Reds on Opening Day most likely.
