  1. Reed Johnson should never hit against righties, but CERTAINLY not against 98 MPH throwing righties, and CERTAINLY not with 6 outs left at your disposal.
  2. I see a Kemp line down the LF line for a bases clearing double in the Cubs future.
  3. So Philly should pass us in most runs scored in baseball tonight or tomorrow.
  4. Is there a hurricane coming that I don't know about? We were down 1-0 at this point yesterday. But we looked somewhat good against Kuroda. Lowe is making us look silly. Meh. Maybe we'll hit Broxton again.
  5. Is there a hurricane coming that I don't know about? We were down 1-0 at this point yesterday.
  6. Is it just me or at the Cubs no where near as selective as they were even 2 weeks ago? They aren't walking as much...
  7. Lowe is looking pretty good tonight. He's not throwing a ton of strikes and is a little wild but he's getting hitters to chase. BTW, Z's ERA on June 1 last year was 5.68, so its not like Lowe is necessarily a horrible pitcher because of his numbers so far.
  8. With the guy who can't hit righties, Z and Soriano up?
  9. Because he's a good pitcher? Again, 6.61 ERA away from spacious Dodger stadium this year. It's also not the best night for hitting like last night. The park probably plays a lot like Dodger stadium at night right about now.
  10. C'mon you are better than that AB Soto...
  11. I know we aren't hitting the ball as well as in April, but its funny to see the Cubs leading the league in runs scored at the end of May and still hear fans say "ballgame" every time the Cubs don't score in the first few innings and the opposition takes a 1-0 lead.
  12. Surprised that no one posted the lineup. I heard it on ESPN 1000 on the way home Soriano, LF Theriot, SS Lee, 1B Ramirez, 3B Fukudome, RF Soto, C DeRosa, 2B Johnson, CF Zambrano, P I honestly wish Zambrano and Johnson switched.
  13. Based on this, here is my predicted All Star Roster: 1B: Berkman Pujols Gonzalez 2B: Utley Hudson Phillips 3B: Jones Wright SS: Ramirez Tejada Reyes C: Soto McCann Martin OF: Soriano Fukudome Griffey McLouth Burrell Holliday Braun P: Zambrano Dempster Webb Santana Capps Lincecum Voloquez Redding Hammels Lyon Lidge Valverde Dodgers: Martin Giants: Lincecum Padres: Gonzalez Rockies: Holliday Diamondbacks: Webb, Hudson, Lyon Cubs: Soriano, Fukudome, Dempster, Soto, Zambrano Cardinals: Pujols Astros: Berkman, Tejada, Valverde Brewers: Braun Pirates: Capps, McLouth Reds: Voloquez Braves: Jones Mets: Santana, Wright, Reyes Marlins: Ramirez Nationals: Redding Phillies: Burrell, Hammels, Lidge I spent literally 5 minutes on this so I am probably missing some key players.
  14. Wow thats a shock. Cubs fans usually don't stuff the boxes well (Vance excluded), so its surprising to see how the Cubs are doing at so many positions.
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3415614 What I am wondering is what if Sosa doesn't get selected to the squad?
  16. This is why Pie struggling like mad is more frustrating. I know Geo turned out well, but when will our "can't miss" position prospects pan out. Bruce was the number 1 prospect in baseball. Pie was somewhere in the 40's
  17. I wonder what would happen in the highly improbable scenario where a AAA player gets elected to start the All Star game.
  18. Honestly, I'm not saying that this will happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Reds, despite Dusty Baker, become our greatest threat in the division this year.
  19. The 2 walks ensures he'll be on the bench the next 2 weeks.
