  1. In an ideal world, the Cubs can get all of these filled, but lets be honest...with the state of the Cubs farm system, whatever your top priority is, it will probably gut the farm system leaving the other needs unfilled. Here is my list: 1. Front Line Starter 2. Veteran right handed bench player with power 3. LOOGY/Any capable left handed bullpen arm. That's really it. Any guesses on who would be available for my number 2 and 3?
  2. Don't know how reliable Al from BCB is, but I have seen him post some information that turned out to be true in the past. Anyways this is what he says:
  3. THE CUBS ARE INTERESTED IN A LEFT HANDED BAT??! YOU DONT SAY!!
  4. Our run differential is going to take a huge hit after this one.
  5. Ugh what a perfect time for a 10 game road trip. If we go 5-5 I'll be happy. 2/4 vs. SF, 2/3 vs. CWS, 1/3 vs. STL
  6. If we lose this it will be 4-5 in our last 9. Not terrible, but not exactly where we want to be. Also, 3-7 vs. the AL East ugh
  7. I think the injuries are taking a toll on us. Can't be missing your star OF, ace pitcher, platoon CF, and your most patient hitter and not expect to perform poorly.
  8. Losing 2/3 from the Orioles at home is unacceptable IMO...but I guess it happens from time to time. Maybe we'll sweep the White Sox again..
  9. I still hate Edmonds, but with increased expectations now, predict how his final numbers will look like. Off hand I think he is something like .238/.318/.419 for the year My guess .265/.335/.445
  10. Yet we are 1-2 against said horrible teams ;)
  11. Ramirez looked like the only acceptable outcome for his last 2 ABs would be a Home Run.
  12. Not sure if anyone talked about this earlier in the game thread, but I heard on WGN 720 Pregame that Lou said that he will no longer lift Edmonds when he is up against a LHP. Does that worry anyone here? It makes me worry that Reed Johnson's days as a solid platoon partner are over.
  13. Don't know if its just me but Marmol has looked a lot more confident after getting that K
  14. I think he was told to stop throwing so hard and take a little off his pitches to maintain his command. That's just my guess.
  15. OK Marmol is throwing strikes somewhat consistantly. Can we all stop freaking out and pretend this is the Marmol we all knew a week ago?
  16. Derrek Lee and DPs are like _____________________________ Finish the simily
  17. As long as he doesn't pull a Tampa Don't you remember his performance against the White Sox? He hasn't been getting hit, but come on. His control has been Ankielesque recently. He looked better yesterday, but still. I'm just saying....1 run lead: worried. 3 run lead: he's still unhittable. Actually I was more commenting on how amazing it is that Marmol is in the middle of a "super slump" by his standards, and yet hes on a 7 appearence hitless streak.
  18. I think Mike Greenberg is. Edit: Maybe not. He was born in NY. He might have a soft spot for them though because I listen occasionally and he seems excited to talk about the Cubs.
  19. Marmol hasn't given up a HIT in his last 7 appearences. As long as he doesn't pull a Tampa, he'll be fine.
  20. That reminds me of last night except we're winning, its the 6th inning, and only the first 2 hitters reached
  21. Good catch 7-16 lifetime, 3B, HR and a .438/.444/.750 line.
