I think that Lee is starting to get into one of those stretches where he just doesn't make outs. -
How crushing would it be to Sox fans if we somehow came back to win.

Would you prefer a bases loaded 0 out situation followed by 3 K's again? I certainly wouldn't. I am going to be upset about this game all day no matter what, but I will be about 3 times as upset if they get my hopes up again only to fail.

I wouldn't bring him into a tied/1 run game after hes pitched like what once after a 2 week absense.

He's not going to flip out when we still have the best record in the NL by at least 3.5 games and are literally decimated by injuries right now. It's just a bad stretch which is excusable considering what is happening with the team.

We lost Soriano at the worst possible time. Losing him for interleague play really killed us. Plus we had 3 series in AL parks this year, and only 2 at home. Too many lineups that had Fontenot/Cedeno/Blanco/Murton in it every day.

Yeah, let's ignore their combine line of 4 IP, 5 Runs vs. us this year. Yeah lets use that small sample size and ignore what they've done the other 80+ innings they've thrown this year, or the numbers they've all put up during their careers. Yeah let's call the game over down by 1 run with 2 innings to go. I wasn't calling it over. It was hyperbole. Can the pessimism police (read: you) leave me alone.

We need a RH hitter off the bench with some pop. I don't care if we have a 3 man bench. Thornton was able to kill us with 3 of the 5 hitters he faced being lefties and we couldnt do anything to stop him because we have crap on the bench.

Doesn't look like a bad decision to bring him in now that he was able to get through 5 outs. Now they have Linebrink, Dotel and Jenks to use for the next 2+ innings.

Also looks like Lou is ready to pull him at the first sign of trouble. And he faces Wise, Cabrera, and Pierzynski...not exactly the high power part of their order.

Wow the ERA's of their bullpen: 2.28 3.24 3.19 2.08 1.45 2.25 Wonder which one Cotts is, which one Hermanson is and which one Polite is.

Blah. The bullpen is pretty good. Funny how the worst 2 bullpens in baseball last year (Rays and White Sox) are now among the best. Shows you what a crapshoot the pen is.
