  1. Yet the win last night was no big deal. the doom and gloom around here is so pathetic. Doom and gloom? Jesus we just lost a soul crushing game. Who the hell isn't really upset right now? This has nothing to do with perspective and the grand scheme of things Why is a road win over the team directly below us in the standings no big deal, but a loss is a soul crushing experience? When did I ever say that? If you are referring to last night I said that when we were up 2-1 in the 9th inning that losing this game would be more devistating than winning this game would be awesome to me. It was a big deal. I enjoyed it. I stand by my last post. Thanks for taking the time to look it up though. I don't understand why you're so obsessed with my pessimism, but I guess its flattering. it was at the end of last night's game thread, it wasn't like i was digging through hidden files or anything. The Cubs are in first place and you're easily the most pathetic member of the stupid woe is us club. im just cutting the head off the snake. Congrats on yet another attack of an nsbb poster. If you look through my posts you'll see that 95% of my pessmistic posts are within 20 minutes of any Cubs game. I'm actually pretty level headed the rest of the time. (although I'm sure you'll soon look up my posts to make sure and find 1-2 outliers and decide to post them) There are much worse than me, but again I'm flattered that you notice my posts, the great IMB!

  3. which we almost got, were it not for a Fontenot homer. Maybe, it is time to re-evaluate just how good this team really is. And we might have swept if Theriot got a hit on Tuesday night and Marmol didn't give up a 3 run HR on Thursday.
  4. I know he has been good all year, but **** kerry wood. You have to get through the crap that is the bottom of the cardinals order. Apparently BudHouse has logged in as illiniguy today. I think Woody would tell you the same thing. He has to get the job done there. Now we probably drop this series. Why do we probably drop the series? We're better than the Cardinals, and are playing them tomorrow. Two reasons 1. Momentum 2. Cubs road record Momentum? Like our momentum coming off the Sox series at Wrigley? We had an off day in between? I dont know, are you trying to say that momentum plays no part in sports. I am probably placing too much emphasis on momentum of course...the players have probably already brushed most of this off. I was just listing reasons why the Cubs would be favored to lose tomorrow.

  8. It's going to take me awhile to get over this loss. A normal loss stings me from about 20 mins - 2 hours depending on the importance of the game. I don't think I'll be right for the rest of the day.
  9. I wish we had a lefty in the pen we could have brought in to face Ankiel. I don't care if Wood is the closer, its the right move.
  10. See Cubs thats how you finish a 9th inning rally. Thanks for ruining my night. God dammit. Get them tomorrow I guess. God dammit. God dammit.
  11. God dammit this is the second time that Kerry Wood has imploded against a rival with a 2 run lead in the 9th. I'm absolutely crushed right now. Absolutely crushed. Laugh it up Cardinals fans.
  12. ? (I'm on Gameday, and it's going slow) Being my pessimistic self sorry.
  13. An Adam Kennedy walkoff would be so Cardinal wouldnt it? Don't make it a reality
  14. Hahahah Kerry thats a great Marmol impression...but can we finish off the game now?
  15. Marmol's about as extreme of a fly ball pitcher as it gets. 58.7% of balls hit against them are fly balls. That's why I'm not too worried about the home runs, as long as he can keep his control better. His HR rate at the start of the year was way too low for how many fly balls he gives up. And this is why I know nothing about baseball.
  16. Still would have liked to see him miss more bats and induce grounders. When Marmol is really on hes striking out two and getting a grounder for the other. Although, since I am not watching the game, I have no clue how nasty Marmol did or didn't look and a 3 batter sample size doesn't tell us much.
  17. This inning might be very telling for Marmol. Is it a mental issue? Can he overcome things?
  18. Wow he's slow. Damn I would have liked another this inning.
  19. I hate that I am scared to know that Marmol is coming in for the 8th. Please keep the FB down Carlos and throw your slider for strikes
  20. Are they still doing that to him? And he hasn't adjusted yet? I haven't watched a game he has been in since last Sunday.
