  1. Still 1 out with runners on 1st and 2nd 5-4 Cards.
  2. Wow McClellen in to pitch in the 5th inning. Must be their Marmol
  3. C'mon Burrell. At least get a sac fly to make it a 1 run game here.
  4. 2 on 1 out for the heart of the Phillies order (Utley, Howard, Burrell)
  5. Jimmy Rollins has been awful this year.
  6. What other manager uses their top setup man in 6 run games? Seriously
  7. And its over. Nice job Eyre. We'll start a new one now. Funny how the scoreless streak ends on a Walk, wild pitch, ground out, fly out
  8. Eyre is a fly ball or grounder from ending the scoreless streak. Maybe out of respect for the streak, and the Cubs big lead, they should play the IF in.
  9. I have a feeling the Phillies come back and win this game.
  10. That's going to be funny when the Phillies outscore the Cardinals something like 26-10 this series and still lose 2/3
  11. Weird WGN beeping thing approves of Jim Edmonds' double
  12. What "eyes"? :?: It's a WGN America thing. You Chicagoans wouldn't understand. Got it. I went on the WGN America website. That is just odd and creepy. Reminds me of Japnese Anime in some way. What other type of anime is there? Also, RAMIREZ!!!! Afghanistaniamtion of course!
  13. Yay, my complaints about Ramirez's lack of power worked!
  14. Has Barajas fielded a throw to the plate cleanly all series? I'm not complaining but geez.
  15. There is a separate forum for Rants. Thanks. This is also relevant game thread discussion since the mere sight of Marmol warming up caused a page of complaints.
  16. Guess which flukey St. Louis hitter just Homered: A. Ryan Ludwick B. Skip Schumaker C. Aaron Miles D. Mitchell Boggs.
  17. Please we need to stop complaining about Marmol. Yes he's been overused this far, but despite some stupid decisions earlier in the year (the 2 IP appearances with a 5 run lead, etc), Lou is smartening up, and I think it has to do with that semi-rough stretch he had when he gave up some long balls. Since then, Lou has been using him in smaller <1 IP situations. Last week Marmol was on pace for about 109 IP, after a week of this shift, he's now on pace for 99 IP and 85 GP. Here is a look at some of the leaders in bullpen IP the last few years: 2007: Heath Bell 93.2 Saul Rivera 93.0 Peter Moylan 90.0 2006: Scott Proctor 102.0 Salomon Torres 93.1 Jon Rauch 91.1 Geoff Gerry 91.1 2005: Salomon Torres 94.2 Scott Shields 91.2 2004: Scott Shielfs 105.1 So while no one wants Marmol to pitch 105 IP this year, with a reduced workload that Lou is consciously giving him, he should end up around 85-95 IP this year. Please don't complain every time Marmol comes into the game.
  18. Bases loaded 2 outs for Werth and the Phillies Edit: Werth grounds out
  19. Geez he didn't even hesitate, he just dove right in
