    I think there might be something wrong with Sheets. Like I said he was very hittable his last start, and he hasn't started out great this start. The man is allowed to give up a run or two, but when I see 9 hits in his last start in only 5 innings, you have to wonder if hes slumping, if hes going through dead arm, or if hes hurt.

    Not good. Each inning like this lessens my hopes that he will contribute to the team this year.

    Sheets was very hittable his last start 5 IP 9 H 4 R only 3 K. I wonder if his velocity was down at all or if it was just because he started the All Star game and threw 2 innings.

    Lance Berkman had a 1.409 OPS in May of 2008 Alfonso Soriano had a 1.249 OPS in July of 2006 And whoever said that when you hit HRs en masse you are usually not taking a lot of pitches might be onto something as the months I've found are usually not the month that they hit the most HRs

    Derrek Lee had a 1.171 OPS in June of 2005, just .002 points behind Sosa's June of 98 Ramirez had a 1.164 OPS in July of 2006

    What annoys me is that I have a lot of friends who are fans of other teams like the Red Sox, Braves, Orioles, etc, and most of them seem to think we have this obsession with Bartman like we talk about him all the time and are ready to kill him if we see him. The thing is, I don't think about Bartman unless a fan of another team brings him up. Get over it already. We have.

    That 8th inning felt cleansing. We could easily lose tomorrow, but at this point I'm just happy we won this one. Ramirez breaks his slump with a hit...I develop a grin to see him do what he's paid to do. Soto follows with a solid single on an 0-2 count...my grin gets bigger to see him do what he's paid to do. Fukudome gets a walk...my grin is now very noticable as I see him do what he's paid to do DeRosa walks in a run...I develop a slight giggle as Dusty Baker is proven wrong once again The Reed...well he's not paid to hit righties but the HR made me delirious.

    I think this is a bad idea. I know we are paying him a lot of money, but why not bring him up in Sept.

    Cubs decided they wanted to play to the level of their competiton so they are matching them in agressive baserunning outs.

    Anyone else find it bad that our 4 and 5 hitters tonight are in a combined 0-47 slump? (Ramirez 0-26, Soto 0-21)

    Wow, the Dbacks are stupid. They took advantage of some aggressive baserunning, which is good, but they really took it too far. They've already made 2 outs on the basepaths on a pickoff and agressive run home, and they were picked off another time earlier in the game but didn't get caught.
