  1. I'm so scared that this is the offense we are going to get in the playoffs.
  2. At what OPS would Lee have to get to in order for Lou to consider moving him down in the order? I say if it gets below .800 he might consider moving him down. Soriano Theriot Soto Ramirez Edmonds Lee DeRosa Fukudome
  3. Obviously it didn't happen but this would be a bad idea as well. High likelihood that Reed gets thrown out which would mean Dempster would lead off the next inning, which wouldn't be good. This catcher is 4 for 18 at throwing out runners after throwing out Theriot earlier in the game. Not a high % move, but if you are going to try to have someone steal third, I'd rather have done it in that situation
  4. Now I wouldn't be against trying to steal third and hoping for a bad throw.
  5. Sweet more stranded base runners. If only Font's hit was hit about 3 feet farther.
  6. When the Cubs get beat to the bag but actually get in there before the tag, we always say "oh well they are going to give you that call when you're beaten to the bag." However when another team does it against the Cubs, they manage to get the call correct.
  7. Dear Commissioner Selig, Please contract the Marlins and blow up this stadium immediately. I have thought about this extensively and have determined that the Dolphins can just play at the Orange Bowl. Thank you for your consideration.
  8. I hate this freaking ballpark and team (Marlins, not the Cubs)
  9. 2 on 0 outs and your 4 hitter up...wow. I don't care how bad the catcher is at throwing out runners, thats just not a smart decision. If its the 8 spot in the order its more defensable but this is a really really bad choice
  10. Soriano hitting 4-20 (.200) his last 6 games with 6 Ks
  11. Man we were getting hits with RISP like crazy in Atlanta, but here in our house of horrors its so bad that I don't expect to see a hit with RISP. This is turning out to be as frustrating as the Florida series in Chicago.
  12. How come Dempster didn't move the bat at all on that bunt attempt
  13. I have no idea why a guy with a .395 SLG is hitting 5th in the order. It just doesn't make sense. Just like it makes no sense to face a RHP and have him be your only lefty. (he actually has a better BA vs. LHP)
  14. Hmm maybe thi s is the guy I want to see up :)
  15. Just the guy I was hoping to see up with runners on.
  16. It looks really freaking hot and muggy outside.
  17. Does anyone else see Derrek Lee at bat and try to imagine him hitting a home run but are unable to?
  18. More like a groundball turned into a 4 base error because he ain't hitting one over the fence.
  19. 75 wins in the NL, and we only have a 4.5 game lead. I hate this. We'd have an 8-game bulge in the East and a commanding 10-game lead in the West. Its nice to be in the dominant divsion in the league, but also a bit unfair (while wearing the Cubbie blue shades). Of course, not quite as unfair as its going to be for either the Cards or Brewers to be the 3rd best team in the NL, but be left at home due to how the playoffs/seedings are set up. I don't even care about the division, I care about the fact that we are 6.5 up on a red hot Cardinal team. That's our playoff cushion.
