  1. Kazmir is a lefty :D  Whatever my point still stands :)
  2. Unlike Reed Johnson getting embarrased by Lincecum. Well we've already known and accepted that Reed sucks against righties, and Jim is pretty good against them. But when Jim is going bad, he looks awful regardless of which arm the pitcher throws with.
  3. Is it just me or does it seem like Reed Johnson somehow always gets in the starting lineup against really tough righties? He started against Halladay, Kazmir, twice now against Lincecum
  4. I like Jim Edmonds ABs that don't end in horrible Ks. Being so scared of him returning to his pathetic ways with SD, it actually warms my heart to see him fly out to LCF
  5. Funny inning for the Cardinals Ludwick leads off with a K. Pujols grounds out. Then the Cardinals put together a 4 run 2 out rally.
  6. Blah loaded the bases with 0 outs and only got 1 run. But it was Ross and Bailey hitting.
  7. It doesnt matter. He has a 4.13 ERA for the season as a setup guy on a team that already has 7 other All Stars. He was just booed off the mound at his home ballpark yesterday. I'm not saying Marmol doesn't have All Star caliber talent. It's just a really strange and awkward time to be named an All Star. Maybe this was Lou lobbying to Hurdle in an attempt to get Marmol's confidence up. Still really bizarre.
  8. Man I really hope the NL doesn't take a 5+ run lead into the late innings....
  9. Problem with that is, you start analyzing every single game looking for how we should be leading the division by even more games. And at the same time, we've won a few improbable games as well (the 10-9 game vs the Rockies, after being down 8-1(?), perhaps?). Been there, done that. No I know...I just brought that up because it was the most recent blown game that we lost and one that cost us two games in the standings to the Cardinals
  10. Obviously its playing the what if game, but imagine if the Cubs had one that game against St. Louis last Saturday. They would go into tomorrow with a 7 game lead on the Brewers and a 7.5 game lead on the Cardinals. Shoulda woulda coulda
  11. 5.5 and 6 up on the Cardinals and Brewers respectively.
  12. brewersbrewers tough game today huh? Wait brewersbrewers where are you??
  13. Geez Gagne to Mota is an enjoyable bullpen combo.
  14. I guess your right with Josh Fogg winning a game and Ben Sheets losing a game in this homestand One example doesn't overturn the general rule. The Crew are 30-16 at home, a .652 winning percentage. Yeah they are a good home team but that doesnt mean you can ignore the fact that the NL's ERA leader is starting for the visitors. Or wait I think Lincecum is now the ERA leader. Guess we don't have to worry about him tomorrow though

  16. Edison Volquez has not nearly been as sharp the last four starts.
  17. The Pirates are rolling over and dying
  18. Some numbers To finish....record 81-81....24-44 85-77....28-40 90-72....33-35 -------------------play .500 ball rest of way record 91-71------- 93-69....36-32 95-67....38-30 ----------------------Current pace 98-64-------------------------- 100-62....43-25 103-59....46-22 105-57....48-20 110-52....53-15 116-46....59-9
  19. Seriously. Why doesn't someone ask him why he believes Marshall is a LOOGY when he's a SP and faces plently of RH. Ding Ding Ding I was the original one to make the point, but to play Devil's Advocate: Career vs. RHB = .271 BAA Career vs. LHB = .235 BAA The numbers are almost equal this year, but his OPS against is better vs. LHB Of course they are. I would think just about every LHP not named Mike Remlinger has a better BAA/OPSA against LH than RH, but that doesn't mean bad Marmol should pitch instead of Marshall. This is directed at the devil's advocate, not you. I'm pretty sure you agree with me. I do. Even if Righties are hitting .300 against Marshall, its much better than Marmol throwing the ball all over the place, giving up contact and making bad decisions out there.
  20. He's taken a couple of light shots at the A's fans, although I'm pretty sure he is trying to me more complimentary of the Cubs fans than dissing the A's fans.
  21. Lou said that cause he didn't hear him. I know, but in context its funny beacuse Lieber is never used.

  23. Reporter: Is Lieber OK? Was he available? Lou: Who? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
