  1. Can you verify this? I had BBTN on ITB (in the background) but I didn't hear anything about Harden. LLANSBBS! (Looks like another NSBB scoop) I saw something about it. Didn't see the actual segment, but I saw the pre-commercial promo for it where Ravich said something like "Are the Cubs close to getting Harden?" But like what always happens, a bunch of media outlets report a story using the same source (in this case the Sun-Times) and people assume that "everyone" is reporting it. So, what you're saying is that the Cubs are going after Rich Harden? According to the Sun-Times, yes.

  3. Jason *clap clap clap* Dooo-Bois
  4. Bigbird from OH confirms that SSBW placed a call to the Cubs front office today. We are still waiting to hear from Peace. Strangest thread I've ever seen Get well soon SSBW
  5. I guarantee you that this was probably mistyped and what they really meant is that he made the All Star team
  6. Wow, on the surface this seems like a really dumb move for the Brewers. If LaPorta goes in the trade, they are morons. They will be scary this year though for sure.
  7. Man what a horrible win today. With 16 hits they should have scored more than 7 runs. Plus Marshalls long ball rates are really worrying me. *waits for pessimism police.....* Just kidding. Nice win today. I guess momentum is overrated in baseball.
  8. The Cubs system seems to produce a lot of one year wonders Brian Dopirak, Richard Lewis, Donaldson, Thomas, etc. But maybe all systems have those sorts of players, I dunno.
  9. Was this in response to me? Because mine was in response to SSR pointing out that since their hot start the Cardinals are just one game over .500. I simply found the Cubs record during that same time.
  10. If you foe every pessimistic poster here you're going to be talking to yourself by October. it would just be me, truffle and ryan and im pretty sure they would rebel against me Just for the record, I was so pumped by the win yesterday that I hooked my nipples up to the cars batteries. After which I ran around the yard naked for hours. Thus I don't think I can overreact about this loss. Isn't that just a typical Friday night for you though?
  11. I'm assuming May 30th is your reference point. Record since May 30th: Cardinals 17-16 Cubs 18-15 Brewers 19-11 Just saying
  12. which we almost got, were it not for a Fontenot homer. Maybe, it is time to re-evaluate just how good this team really is. And we might have swept if Theriot got a hit on Tuesday night and Marmol didn't give up a 3 run HR on Thursday. A sign somebody has to come off the ledge. So at what point should we start to worry about the other teams in the division? Once they have passed us? Don't look at me, I've been well documented as worried about the Brewers since they were about 9 games out of first. You probably should start to worry about the Cardinals too. They have hung through half a season. What happened to everyone pointing out the Brewers pythag record as reasons why they aren't a threat?
  13. Yet the win last night was no big deal. the doom and gloom around here is so pathetic. Doom and gloom? Jesus we just lost a soul crushing game. Who the hell isn't really upset right now? This has nothing to do with perspective and the grand scheme of things Why is a road win over the team directly below us in the standings no big deal, but a loss is a soul crushing experience? When did I ever say that? If you are referring to last night I said that when we were up 2-1 in the 9th inning that losing this game would be more devistating than winning this game would be awesome to me. It was a big deal. I enjoyed it. I stand by my last post. Thanks for taking the time to look it up though. I don't understand why you're so obsessed with my pessimism, but I guess its flattering. it was at the end of last night's game thread, it wasn't like i was digging through hidden files or anything. The Cubs are in first place and you're easily the most pathetic member of the stupid woe is us club. im just cutting the head off the snake. Congrats on yet another attack of an nsbb poster. If you look through my posts you'll see that 95% of my pessmistic posts are within 20 minutes of any Cubs game. I'm actually pretty level headed the rest of the time. There are much worse than me, but again I'm flattered that you notice my posts, the great IMB! what attack? your posts are pathetic, I just calls em like i sees em. You're free to call me awesome all you want. Again, just being noticed is flattering. Why don't you just foe me if you can't stand me. I'm sorry I got in another pissing match with you... I should no better than to bother. This board has gotten horrible lately.
  14. True, he's looked pretty bad as of late. We'll see if he can even get through 5 innings without getting injured again.

  18. I know he has been good all year, but **** kerry wood. You have to get through the crap that is the bottom of the cardinals order. Apparently BudHouse has logged in as illiniguy today. I think Woody would tell you the same thing. He has to get the job done there. Now we probably drop this series. Why do we probably drop the series? We're better than the Cardinals, and are playing them tomorrow. Two reasons 1. Momentum 2. Cubs road record Momentum? Like our momentum coming off the Sox series at Wrigley? We had an off day in between? I dont know, are you trying to say that momentum plays no part in sports. I am probably placing too much emphasis on momentum of course...the players have probably already brushed most of this off. I was just listing reasons why the Cubs would be favored to lose tomorrow.

  22. It's going to take me awhile to get over this loss. A normal loss stings me from about 20 mins - 2 hours depending on the importance of the game. I don't think I'll be right for the rest of the day.
  23. I wish we had a lefty in the pen we could have brought in to face Ankiel. I don't care if Wood is the closer, its the right move.
  24. See Cubs thats how you finish a 9th inning rally. Thanks for ruining my night. God dammit. Get them tomorrow I guess. God dammit. God dammit.
  25. God dammit this is the second time that Kerry Wood has imploded against a rival with a 2 run lead in the 9th. I'm absolutely crushed right now. Absolutely crushed. Laugh it up Cardinals fans.
