  1. Yes its very wrong. This is by far Z's worst stretch of the season, and in his last 4 starts Marquis has given up 15 runs, while Zambrano has given up 16.
  2. It can't be. Sportsline is confused and doesn't know what to do.
  3. I see the wind is blowing out pretty heavily to LF. Should be an interesting game.
  4. I'm guessing Langerhans has a good arm in RF?
  5. The Nationals are complete morons for sitting Kearns against us.
  6. The Cubs visiting Fenway, is the only interleague matchup that the Cubs haven't had yet. Every other team has come to Wrigley, and the Cubs have played in every AL city except Boston. Kinda weird considering we played the AL East this year and had already been to Toronto. Edit: as always I'm a moran, the Cubs have never played in Oakland, and the Angels have never been to Wrigley.
  7. I'm sure the Giants are just raving about how they chose to build their team around Aaron Rowand. Solid player, but not one I'd consider 'building my team around'. Your list is just players that you like and think would be a good fit on most if not all baseball teams.
  8. I'd prefer they still lose because 1) I still hate them 2) I don't want to seem too cocky so it makes me feel better by pretending to worry about them.
  9. I didn't think so. Most of our core players are too old to be considered in the list.
  10. Out of curiosity, has any qualified pitcher ever had a higher BA than his ERA?
  11. Gotta keep telling myself preseason is meaningless. Not THAT worried about the defense yet.
  12. So with a win we clinch not worst record in the NL?
  13. Arizona is only 3.5 GB the Mets for second best division leader in the NL
  14. When I looked at the homestand, this was the one game I thought might be a loss. Well we already lost our game for the homestand so you better win today. This guy is a solid pitcher.
  15. It's just a slump, as I said on page one when everyone laughed at me. We'll be fine. People laughed at you because you arbitrarily removed about 11 runs of production from a 5 game span to justify calling it a slump. No people still we're laughing at me after I justified my gut feeling by showing the Cubs were battling like .233 with a sub .300 SLG during that same time frame. People only like the stats that are pleasing to them. Yup, like taking out a bunch of runs and then saying the offense is struggling because they don't score much outside of those runs. Which *is* what we were laughing at you about, UMF. It was a dumb argument get over it. I make tons of good arguments every week and I make one faulty one that I rushed to express a gut feeling and you openly mock me throughout the game thread?

  17. PS Unless this is your last vacation of the year before the stretch run. In that case, your timing couldn't be better. Please return on Monday though.

  19. LOL, they scored 4 runs in 3 games. Unless they are telling me that future starts Bronson Arroyo and Josh Fogg are the ones that the Reds are counting on in the future.
  20. I hate Valentin. Talk about Cub killers. Let's get him.
  21. ok now that we've scored 9 runs in 3 games at home vs. Cincinnati with games started by Arroyo and Fogg, can we admit the Cubs offense is at least in a mini-slump?
  22. Carlos Marmol just snapped 16.2 straight innings without a ER 11.2 straight innings without a H Joey Votto = Cub killer
  23. I'm starting to get behind the bench Fukudome bandwagon. It's getting to the point where I don't know if his defense makes up for his offensive short comings. He is hitting .202 with a .279 OBP since July 1st
