  1. Also, it can't hurt that the Pirates pen is going into extras today, and although we want them to win, it would be nice to wear out the pen in the process.
  2. Cardinals win. We gained 0.5 games on the Cardinals during the homestand, and either lost 0.5 or gained 0.5 on the Brewers during the homestand. I'll for sure take it, but was hoping for more during a week the Cubs played the Reds and Nationals at home. Then again, the Cardinals played the Pirates and Braves and the Brewers played the Astros and Pirates at home. The good news is, the Brewers and Cardinals are off tomorrow and then they play each other for two games on Tuesday and Wednesday, so if the Cubs have a good series in Pittsburgh, then we're going to gain.
  3. Tie game in Milwaukee again!
  4. 80 wins! Have to go 1-31 or better to have a .500 season 10-22 or better to win 90 games 15-17 or better to win 95 games 20-12 or better to win 100 games
  5. Cameron HR 3-2 Brewers with 2 outs in the 8th drats
  6. Edmonds 4 for his last 30 .138 .324 .483 .807 His 4 hits were 3 HRs and a 2B
  7. Edmonds has sucked lately, walks aside (which are always nice)
  8. It's amazing Yost sees no problem with usage. He knows that they're not going to have him next year. Mine as well get your money's worth. He might not be able to use him this October the way he's going. Leadoff double for Hart.
  9. Is it just me or has every game on this homestand been really short? Ward swinging on 3-0...why?!
  10. 1-2-3 inning for CC. He's up to 96 pitches through 6.
  11. 91 pitches through 6. I think if the Cubs don't score this inning he'll pitch the 7th. If they do they will put in Shark
  12. Hopefully the Pirates have a mildly patient inning and get CC over 100 pitches through 6. He has 85 through 5. How many pitches can they conceivably let him throw? 130?
  13. 2 hits in 5 innings for the Cubs, come on guys.
  14. The good news is CC is going to have over 80 pitches through 5....not that it matters.
  15. Seriously, why are there such things as [insert team]-killers Its amazing how guys like Austin Kearns, Joey Votto, Adam Dunn, Carlos Lee, etc. can be in the middle of a horrific slump and then the Cubs come to down and they start hitting again.
  16. June 1st Rotoworld: Mark Prior will undergo shoulder surgery this week and miss the rest of the season. Prior was found to have a tear in the capsule of his right shoulder a couple of weeks. He initially opted for rehab over surgery, but that plan didn't last for long. There won't be any idea about his status for 2009 until after the surgery is performed.
  17. I feel like we are wasting Harden on the Nationals. I can't stand when Soriano turns his head to the side when he pops it up to center. It looks like he's fouled the ball off.
  18. Wow Cubs game, Hancock, Lou Malnatti's, Buckingham fountain? All you are missing is a trip to Navy Pier! :)
  19. Also, what a horrible idea it was for the Pirates to bring back the Gorz and throw him into the fire against a team that mashes lefties with authority.
  20. I don't think the Pirates are going to help us tonight.
