Dammit Dansby. I know that’s a tough play but we pay you big money to drive in runs and especially to make plays like that more often than the average fielder. I know I’m irrational but he really frustrates me dating back to last September -
Seriously. I really need to go to bed and this game has just crawled along while yesterdays was extra innings. Can you guys do this crap when you aren’t playing in the pacific time zone?

Twice today we’ve had a runner on 3rd and 1 out and haven’t gotten him in. Hopefully that stat does not haunt us

Leiter starts against Carroll and hopefully after he gets him out I guess Almonte with Adbert warming in case he gets in trouble? edit: horsefeathers TT said the exact same thing almost word for word before me lol. That is literally the highest honor and I swear I didn’t copy him

This is where you really miss a guy like Seiya in the middle of the order to grind out a great AB and put pressure on the pitcher

Well now there’s no more high leverage situations because the rookie with no control came in with the bases loaded and wildly allowed 4 runs to score with a series of wild pitches walks and hits. is it not at least somewhat like the concept of saving your closer for a save situation in extra innings on the road? You don’t have a save situation if the opponent scores off your crappier pitcher before the closer can be used. No guarantees there will be another bases loaded 1 out situation with the Cubs nursing a 1 run lead with a lefty due up again. Of course you have to get outs and I get what he’s trying to balance between managing to win this game and managing to win long term and that because of that you are occasionally gonna have to bite the bullet and use a less reliable pitcher in a situation you don’t really want to, I just don’t understand that particular decision to use that particular pitcher in that spot.

Make it horsefeathers stop already. Seems like Counsell is basically punting this game by keeping Little in when he clearly has nothing. Tired pen and a day game tomorrow I suppose…

This was the inning to use Leiter. Gets lefties out at a high clip, much more reliable pitcher, potentially your highest leverage spot in the game. I really don’t understand this horsefeathers from Counsell

Not gonna bitch too much about a 4 run inning but not getting a runner home from 3rd sucks a bit knowing that Kyle is still in this game and the lead is only 1
