  1. Thinking about this game I came to the realization that I'll be disappointed if the Bears lose and I'll be disappointed if the Bears win. What a horsefeathers team.
  2. he's practiced fully all week I believe, wouldnt be surprised if he plays
  3. haha I've been toting around that factoid for 20 years. I think Z was just gassed by that point of the season. Not sure how many IP he had in earlier minor league/major league seasons but I'm guessing he surpassed his high that season. He did look pretty sharp for most of game 5 though.
  4. Yeah and given the weirdness around the COVID season its hard to even really use that data. It's just an interesting factoid for now.
  5. Including 2020, 13 of the 16 Wild Card series have ended with a 2-0 sweep, 6 of them swept by the home team, 7 swept by the road team (the home team won 2 of the 3 series that went to 3 games)
  6. Whoops, yeah I did see that. Since roughly Friday I've barely paid any attention to baseball. Welp, so much for that Brewers.
  7. Everyone keeps saying Burnes and Woodruff will allow the Brewers to get far in October and they've never really done anything. Maybe Woodruff and Perhalta will lead the Brewers to the NLDS the next couple of days but I can't see them hanging with the Dodgers.
  8. Boog on a national broadcast sounds like a different person. Legit didnt even realize it was Boog for like 20 minutes (albeit I was only half paying attention) Now that I know its obvious but seems like he uses a different tone for these games
  9. Geez there are rumors on Michigan sites that their schedule next year will include: Home: Texas (already contracted), USC, Oregon, UCLA, Wisconsin, Michigan St Away: Ohio State, Washington At least they avoid Penn State? Not sure how they get through that gauntlet with more than 3-4 losses but maybe I’m just so used to playing cakepuff schedules with maybe 2-3 challenging games a season lol
  10. Sucks that no West teams are hosting any WC round games. Have to imagine they would have liked to have had a game in the 8 or 9pm ct window.
  11. I'm stunned that he is starting game 1 of their series. I knew they had to throw Kelly and Gallen over the weekend but didn't realize that dude is their number 3. Yikes...or they got fooled by his amazing dominance against Chicago teams in September, and figured it might play farther up Lake Michigan. In September he made 3 starts against the Chicago teams, combining for 4 ER in 17 IP. Against the other teams he faced in September he had 13 ER in 12 IP.
  12. Interesting stuff from Peter King Edit: Nevermind, actually hearing the interview it sounds more like speculation than anything informed
  13. Jose Abreu?
  14. What does that even mean? You aren't explaining why the Oilers got all that lottery luck, just that they got it. So far you've said things are rigged for: -East coast teams (Edmonton is not on the east coast) -High profile teams (Edmonton is not a high profile team) -Teams that are revenue sharing contributors (Edmonton is not a revenue sharing contributor)
  15. I figured the Oilers were at the bottom too, they're actually in the middle and were before McDavid. The Canadian teams seem to have more value relative to their market size than their US counterparts. Does that mean it makes sense to give McDavid to Edmonton? Not at all. Think of how much more visibility McDavid would have with Toronto, one of the few Canadian teams that casual American fans care about at all. Or Philadelphia, a great US hockey market on the east coast where there is apparently bias towards.
  16. Canadiens are also going through a long rebuild, bring in more revenue and are worth more as a franchise, they had 2% worse odds, why not rig it for them? Other teams in the top 10 (level for revenue sharing, not 8 ) include Detroit, Philadelphia and Washington. Was there some backdoor deal that allowed the Blackhawks to get the benefit of the rigging, just 1 year after an embarrassing scandal? The Maple Leafs (the most valuable brand in the sport and in the middle of a stretch of 1 playoff appearance in 11 years) and Flyers were high in the 2015 draft lottery order, why did they give it to middling Edmonton?
  17. Why exactly is the NHL rigging the draft for Edmonton again? And then why Chicago? Why did the NBA rig the lottery so Cleveland would win it 3 times in a 4 year span? Oh because they were trying to help out the Cavs after they lost LeBron. You can always find a story to craft to fit your narrative if you try hard enough.
  18. It’s Patreon only unfortunately. I might just pay the $5 to see what he says and then cancel lol
  19. Not sure where Jersey is. It's possible that he tried to post this thread and the forum broke as it has been doing the last couple of days. Theres a 70% chance that the board will also break when I post this and I'm not sure if I'll have the willpower to keep trying. But figured since this is a Thursday game, the thread should be created. Anyways, if this does post, the Bears are 6.5 point dogs to a Washington team that has been interesting. Close wins over Arizona and Denver, 2 teams who suck, followed by a dismantling by the Bills and then an OT loss in Philadelphia. Anyways, I'm sure they will wipe the floor with us and we will continue to scream for firings during the magical "mini bye".
  20. Actually I’m surprised he’s even getting some mainstream support from what I saw. Is it that easy for douchebags to be vindicated?
  21. I don't think they were ever going to make a coaching change before a Thursday game. Even if Getsy sucks it really disrupts things on a short week.
  22. Yep, was just coming here to make a similar post. It seems to always resolve itself quickly but has been happening constantly the last 3-4 days.
  23. The last player that received as much (or more) hype as Bedard was McDavid. The team with the 3rd highest odds, Edmonton, landed him despite teams like Toronto and Philadelphia being in reasonable range to land the pick. I don't care what you think about the Oilers as a franchise and their history in the 80s or whatever, Edmonton was one of the worst potential markets for him to go to. There's no conspiracy, the Blackhawks had the 3rd best odds and their number happened to be called. Hear the same thing in the NBA and the most hyped prospect since LeBron ended up in San Antonio. Zion and AD were also both ridiculously hyped and they ended up in New Orleans.
  24. Last year against OSU, Maryland had the ball twice with the chance to take the lead late in the 4th quarter. They also spent all but 8 minutes of the game at Michigan within 1 score and ended up losing by 7. I think they are going to be a challenge for good teams. OSU is coming off a bye and playing at home so maybe they will struggle there but the Michigan game at Maryland could be a struggle being sandwiched between games at Penn State and Ohio State.
