  1. That's what I'm saying. This could have played out so much differently.
  2. If Hendry and Wood have such a great relationship like Hendry says, and Wood and the Cubs left on amiable terms, then why wouldn't Hendry ask Wood to decline arby and help the team out?
  3. It sucks but its defensible. We really just don't have the unlimited budget we had in previous offseasons, or at least until we get an owner. Hopefully this owner crap will be resolved sooner rather than later. But at least we have Soriano!
  4. I could have sworn I heard on my drive home on 670 that the Cubs declined to offer arby, but to be completely honest, I was barely listening and they could have just been talking about the deadline tonight.
  5. lol stacey king wet himself over that crossover I love that Stacey King brings a level of excitement to the telecasts. In previous years, Red Kerr would have started to yell briefly then choke on his throat lozenges for the next 5 minutes.
  6. Wasn't he injured for awhile? I know he's quickly fallen out of favor with the Bears.
  7. I believe he signed with the Giants last week.
  8. Reminds me of the stories of the some of the superdelegates during the democratic primaries
  9. It's not a perfect argument to use point differential for all of the contests (at least for this season), especially for the bad opponents like Baylor and A&M. How do we know that Texas didn't build up a 35-0 lead, and then play their 2nd team for the entire second half as it gave up a couple TDs, while OU ran their starters out there the whole game. Probably didn't happen that way, but who knows just an example. The problem with using it in the future is that it will allow teams to run up the score on bad opponents. Maybe a point differential system where there is a cap on each individual game of 25 points or something, so the most any team can gain from one victory is +25
  10. They tried to pass on first down, and ran the other 3 times.
  11. It apparently impressed one voter, which is more than I was expecting. I think they had 4 votes last week, so it actually turned off 3 voters. They obviously don't respect the pure awesomeness of Savanah State.
  12. Looks like Michigan's OT Home win vs. Savanah State didn't impress as many voters as I had hoped.
  13. Hopefully Dan Plesac can ride the Big Blue Train all the way to the HOF!
  14. Here is a link to Derrick Rose awesomeness: http://www.docksquadsports.com/2008/11/derrick-rose-will-break-your-ankles.html The 3 videos are: -Rose breaking Miller's ankles on a crossover -Gordon feeding Rose for a fastbreak Alley Oop dunk -Rose coming from nowhere to swat a Miller breakaway layup
  15. Completely disagree. The odds that he will have any sort of prolonged success as an amazing returner are extremely low. I think he's lost that step he had and he's not going to get it back. But he's shown enough in his 1.5 as a receiver to make me believe he can keep getting better, and he's going to have much more of an impact there than at returner. I just don't think he has the hands to be a good/great receiver. He might have lost a step, but that could have to do with his hip injury early in the season. I'm hopeful it returns. But even if it does, I don't see that making him some great receiver. In any case, I fear we've seen the best of Hester already... Regardless, he's not going to help the team more as strictly a returner. That's done. He's not a #1, but he could be a tremendous weapon if the Bears actually had a good WR on the other side, and an offensive line that could block for more than 2 seconds. Ok then...choose returning or WR...get him off doing both...:P I guess as a #2 WR he could be ok, but he's getting paid like a #1, isn't he? I don't see Hester becoming anything more than a #3 WR at this point. I agree with your original point of having him concentrate mainly on returning, even if he has lost a step, he still can be one of the better returners in the League just not the greatest of all-time as he was the 1st two years. To me, that's better than force feeding a below avg. WR into a more important role than he's worth based on financial and bad decision making. So basically what we all feared is actually happening. Devin Hester is following Dante Hall's career arc

That's why I told everyone I could to enjoy Devin while they could. There is just not a long self life for any dominant return man, let alone one that lives and dies by his speed.
  17. I'm being really nitpicky here, but the title should read "12/2 - Philadelphia (7-10) at Bulls (8-9) - 7:30 pm, WCIU" Sorry, little stuff like that bugs me when I notice it.
  18. Lovie just said that Dusty's injury is considered serious. 3rd season ending injury in 3 seasons in the NFL, gah.
  19. Nice they are auditioning punt returners
  20. Uhh Bulls next game is at home against Philly on 12/2, not at Milwaukee.
  21. Which the Vikings just essentially clinched.
  22. Protect him from what? He needs to earn his paycheck, and next years.
  23. All of this is assuming the Vikings beat Detroit. If they lose to Detroit then its open again. What's the 4th tie breaker? They'll have equal head to head, division, and conference records. Unless I'm adding wrong. 1. H2H - Assuming we lost this weekend, 1-1 2. Divison record - Currently: CHI 3-1, MIN 2-2. Assuming CHI loses to MIN and MIN beats DET and CHI beats GB, its CHI - 4-2, MIN - 4-2 3. Common teams W-L: Again record amongst non common teams. 2-0 for Chicago, 0-0 for Min (they play NYG and ARI). If the Bears or Vikings are to tie, the Vikings would need to win both those non-common games to advance to a tie. But also, you would have to assume they beat CHI this week as part of the original scenario, meaning the Vikings would have at a minimum 9 wins. But also, part of the scenario is they beat Detroit, that makes it 10 wins. If the Vikings finish with 10 wins, in beating the Bears along the way, the Bears would have to win out on all the rest of their games to tie the Vikings. So if that scenario occurs, the Bears are still alive. (still following me?) 4. Conference record - Currently: CHI 5-4, MIN 4-3. Again, to get to this point we have to make the following assumptions: MIN over CHI, NYG, ARI, DET, ATL over MIN, CHI over everyone but MIN. If those assumptions don't occur, the Bears are already eliminated, OR the original scenario proposed above doesn't apply. So that would put the Vikings conference record at 8-4, and the Bears conference record at 7-5. Bears eliminated, Vikings win division. Well Detroit's a given. But if they lose to Arizona and Atlanta and the Bears... ah... who am I kidding. Basically the Bears would have to go 3-1 and the Vikings 1-3 or something, with that 1 win coming against the Lions.
  24. Orton is 0-3 with 2 INTs in the 4th quarter, and the Bears have run only 5 offensive plays in the 4th quarter for 3 total yards, with 3 of them turning the ball over (2 INTs, 1 punt)
