  1. It's a classy gesture, but you have to wonder if he'd do that if the Brewer fans already liked him. :) What does he care if people like him? He's a FA after the year anyways.
  2. Against righties it wouldnt hurt
  3. The 'integrity of the game' karma really worked out for us didn't it?
  4. How to make Sunday matter for the Mets: 27 scenarios for what can happen on Friday/Saturday between the 3 teams. In those scenarios... 19 of them force the Mets to pitch Santana (70.4%) 3 of them allow the Mets to rest Santana on Sunday (11.1%) 5 of them the Mets have a lead for a playoff spot going into Sunday, making them decide whether they want to pitch Santana or rest him for a One game playoff or Game 1 (similar to the situation that the Padres had with Peavy last year that backfired) (18.5%) On Sunday morning If... Brewers win 2 games Mets win 0 games Phillies win 2 games Then: Sunday doesn't matter (Brewers win WC, Phillies win East) Brewers win 2 games Mets win 1 game Phillies win 2 games Then: Sunday matters (Brewers magic number = 1, Phillies win East) Brewers win 2 games Mets win 2 games Phillies win 2 games Then: Sunday matters (Brewers/Mets tied, Phillies magic number = 1...even if Brewers lose and Mets win and Phillies lose, Mets win east b/c of tiebreaker) Brewers win 2 games Mets win 0 games Phillies win 1 game Then: Sunday doesn't matter (Brewers win WC, Phillies win East) Brewers win 2 games Mets win 1 game Phillies win 1 game Then: Sunday matters (Brewers magic number is 1, Phillies magic number = 1) Brewers win 2 games Mets win 2 games Phillies win 1 game Then: Sunday matters (Brewers/Mets/Phillies tied) Brewers win 2 games Mets win 0 games Phillies win 0 games Then: Sunday Matters (Brewers win WC, Phillies magic number = 1) Brewers win 2 games Mets win 1 game Phillies win 0 games Then: Sunday matters (Brewers magic number = 1, Mets/Phillies tied for division) Brewers win 2 games Mets win 2 games Phillies win 0 games Then: Sunday matters (Brewers win WC, Mets magic number = 1)* Brewers win 1 game Mets win 0 games Phillies win 2 games Then: Sunday matters (Brewers magic number = 1, Phillies win East) Brewers win 1 game Mets win 1 game Phillies win 2 games Then: Sunday matters (Mets/Brewers tied, Phillies win East) Brewers win 1 game Mets win 2 games Phillies win 2 games Then: Sunday matters (Mets magic number = 1, Phillies magic number = 1) Brewers win 1 game Mets win 0 games Phillies win 1 game Then: Sunday matters (Brewers magic number = 1, Phillies win East) Brewers win 1 game Mets win 1 game Phillies win 1 game Then: Sunday matters (Brewers/Mets tied, Phillies magic number = 1) Brewers win 1 game Mets win 2 games Phillies win 1 game Then: Sunday matters (Mets magic number = 1, Phillies/Mets tied for East) Brewers win 1 game Mets win 0 games Phillies win 0 games Then: Sunday matters (Brewers magic number = 1, Phillies magic number = 1) Brewers win 1 game Mets win 1 game Phillies win 0 games Then: Sunday matters (Brewers/Mets/Phillies tied) Brewers win 1 game Mets win 2 games Phillies win 0 games Then: Sunday matters (Brewers/Phillies tied for WC, Mets magic number = 1)* Brewers win 0 games Mets win 0 games Phillies win 2 games Then: Sunday matters (Brewers/Mets tied for WC, Phillies win East) Brewers win 0 games Mets win 1 game Phillies win 2 games Then: Sunday matters (Mets magic number = 1, Phillies win East) Brewers win 0 games Mets win 2 games Phillies win 2 games Then: Sunday doesn't matter (Mets win WC, Phillies magic number = 1) Brewers win 0 games Mets win 0 games Phillies win 1 game Then: Sunday matters (Mets/Brewers tied for WC, Phillies magic number = 1) Brewers win 0 games Mets win 1 game Phillies win 1 game Then: Sunday matters (Mets magic number = 1, Phillies magic number = 1)* Brewers win 0 games Mets win 2 games Phillies win 1 game Then: Sunday doesn't matter (Mets/Phillies win WC, Phillies/Mets tied for East) Brewers win 0 games Mets win 0 games Phillies win 0 games Then: Sunday matters (Brewers/Mets tied for WC, Phillies magic number = 1) Brewers win 0 games Mets win 1 game Phillies win 0 games Then: Sunday matters (Mets magic number = 1, Phillies/Mets tied for east)* Brewers win 0 games Mets win 2 games Phillies win 0 games Then: Sunday matters (Phillies magic number = 1, Mets magic number = 1)*
  5. How about a 75 pitch CG shutout Demp? At least one of our big 3 needs a dominating outing in their last start right?
  6. Duckworth...as in Brandon Duckworth??
  7. Thought this was a classy gesture for a player who is probably the anti-christ for Brewers fans:
  8. Awesome! http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/2ebdbf7133 Random but funny
  9. The 100 win dream is dead :( The Mets celebration wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be. Oh well, on to Milwaukee!
  10. Yeah thats the first time I saw that. That would have been crushing. As it is, Hill deserves a playoff share for helping keeping Howry off the playoff roster. Lee would have had that.
  11. That's what I was saying...the percentages were probably better for him to steal when it was a 2-0 count
  12. Yea, he passed Miguel Cabrera on my "most obnoxious players" list for the crown No way the Mets don't win this one though, our pen outside of Marmol and Wood is pretty brutal. They didn't win last night under similar conditions. I realize we used Wood, but that was after a 3 run lead was had
  13. nope. he merely clapped...it wasn't that big a deal He started clapping immediately after he hit it, and turned and yelled into the dugout while he was running to first, then pumped his fist again when he got there. I don't mind that he did it....this is a big situation for them, just a commentary.
  14. Reyes celebrating like he just won the World Series with that hit.
  15. Game 1,2 or 5?
  16. I know we don't care if we win this game, but I'd at least like to try to win it. I'm not even saying bat a regular. How about Ward?
  17. If Lou was actually paying attention, I'd PH Ward for Hill and then have Blanco hit for the pitcher.
  18. I'll go ahead and say it. I'm pretty worried about our bullpen outside of Wood, Marmol and maybe Marshall.
  19. Yeah - I live in Manhattan. It's pouring and quite windy ... the game should (hopefully) be called soon. Gotta get through the 7th
  20. Will one of our starters please have a start that builds my confidence before the postseason please? I understand you guys might not want to be showing your best stuff in lieu of a potential playoff matchup, but I might end up with a panic attack soon!
