    Oh man, this is why I hate trolls. I read that article looking for a laugh, and then instead got a depressing article. This put me in a bad mood and I decided to commit suicide. Well, I failed at that too. Apparently its "down the river" not "across the street". It took me 5 damn aspirin to dull the pain, and I got blood all over my roommates couch.

    I put all my centsports money on the Cubs tonight. I did bet the parlay of Cubs + the over. Whats the O/U? I'd imagine it'd be pretty low considering the pitching matchup and the ballpark.

    I'm not completely exaggerating when I say that when I see the Brewers play at Miller Park, I feel like the Brewers are violating our second home. Maybe if we got to a game 5, we could move the game to Wrig North. Just tell the groundskeeper at Wrigley to "forget" to turn the sprinklers off for a night.

    If the Cubs win, at least we get another day If the Cubs lose, we get laughed at some more. I've been dealing with the laughing my entire life. Oh well. I'm really feeling the "nothing to lose" attitude today. I hope the team feels the same say.

    Would have been nice to start him in game one. Scoring just 2 runs it might not have mattered anyways. Might not have mattered. Better than definitely wouldnt have mattered

    Duh! I'd hope these mops are pissed! I actually would have expected them to be in a state of shock. But Kap said they are pissed and its pretty obvious. Who cares if they are pissed? Does that even matter in baseball? This goes back to the fact that if they didn't have enough to play for in the first 2 games, and losing both games only caused them to get pissed and win, then they have bigger problems.

    Did anyone see the game times for Games 4 and 5 if the Cubs make it that far? Game 4 is scheduled to begin on Sunday night at 9:25 PM, meaning it will end around 12:30 Chicago time and 1:30 East Coast time Game 5 is scheduled to begin on Tuesday at 8:30 PM from Wrigley. I love how we are playing a west coast time schedule even though 3 of the 5 games are in Chicago. Alright, I'll stop. I am talking like Games 4 and 5 are even possible.

    You'll still enjoy the regular season, you just won't let a 5 game winning streak get your expectations sky high, you won't read all the Cubbie fluff pieces and get a euphoric feeling in your head, you won't want to discuss the Cubs prognosis as excitedly with your friends and family. Make no mistake guys, we are making progress here. 3 playoffs in 6 years, 4 above .500 seasons in 6 years, and 1 that just missed. These may be baby steps, but at least we are a better franchise than we were between 1945 and 2003.

    A) There aren't many Braves fans left. B) Braves fans saw a hell of a lot more playoff wins than Cubs fans, including World Series wins. Stupid comparison. I just was going to post the same thing. There's no comparison. the point is that the Cubs are built to keep winning in the regular season. There is a great chance they win the division again next year. I'll take a run of division titles and try our luck in the post season. The Braves didn't make it to the World Series in their last 6 playoff appearances. If we won 6 divisions in a row but didn't win it all would we all be crying like babies? They only got swept out of the first round once in those 14 years.

    Doing something nonsensical because it's different is a bad idea. Starting your 5th best starter in an elimination game is nonsensical. Calling your best pitcher Mr. softee because he's had injury problems is nonsensical. Yeah take that Mr. Softee, now go out there and throw 150 pitches, and enjoy next year off! Starting Reed Johnson vs. a righty even though he's proven he can't hit them is nonsensical. The OP's plan is taking a dump on the projector. The plan is a little outrageous, I'll admit that. I'm emotional like a lot of people right now. But the principle -- that it's up to the manager to find a way to take pressure off his team -- is solid. Maybe someone else has a realistic idea of how it could be done? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? You're basically suggesting that Lou steals a page from Ozzie's book for the most part.

Reed Johnson vs. RHP: .280 .323 .398 .721 Kosuke Fukudome vs. RHP: .251 .355 .388 .742 It's really not a huge difference when you take into account Kosuke's numbers are weighted by his April.
